What do these MRI findings mean?

Hi. I am a 34 year old female. I had a non-contrast brain MRI mainly for frequent headaches (2-3/week for YEARS) and deep aching leg pain bilaterally since 2010. Most of the MRI was unremarkable. I need some help understanding one particular paragraph.  I intend on discussing the results with my neurologist but I don't see her for a month.
"There is normal gray-white matter differentiation. A couple of punctate 1 mm foci of hyperintense FLAIR signal are present in the juxtacortical white matter of the posterior superior frontal lobes. Findings are new when compared to prior study"

Does anyone have any insight about the significance of this, if any?
Has anyone had this?

Any input would be appreciated and, as I mentioned, I WILL be following up with my neurologist.

Thanks!

I've never suffered from headaches before, but have been suffering from a chronic headache for the last 6 months. My MRI also revealed tiny juxtacortical lesions. I also had one in the periventricular region. All left frontal lobe. I haven't talked to my neurologist yet. No idea what it means!

Hi and welcome,

Sorry no one has responded to your post until now....this part of your report is basically just pointing out that since your last brain MRI there are 2 additional teeny tiny lesions in the frontal lobe. 1 mm sized lesions are not generally specifically mentioned, they are likely being mentioned because they weren't seen on your prior MRI's but keep in mind the frontal lobe has been shown to be one of the most prominent areas of brain abnormalities in migraineurs so it's likely consistent with your migraine medical history.

Hope that helps.......JJ
