Too many things going on...Need to vent

Sorry everyone, I really need to vent right now. I have been dealing with MS for about ba year now and for the most part I am handling it well. But I keep having all of these other health issues that are driving me crazy and can't get ny answers.

First, they thought I had lupus (i HAVE A TON OF THE SYMPTOMS) But ANA was negative, So they said no lupus. Finally after 6 months of feeling miserable, PCP still thinks lupus even though its not showing in my ANA yet. So she wants to do a few more tests and if everything is fine, she wants to start treating lupus. Finally feel like I'm getting somewhere.

So, bloodwork normal, except showing previous infections with CMV and mono. Never had either one but ok. Go for chest xray and they find a smal nodule on my right lung. So now PCP is thinking sarcoidosis. Have to go for CT scan of lungs.
Now I just get a call from the nurse saying that my CT scan of lungs looked good. Nothing there (so I guess the nodule that was there on xray went away within a week?). But now they see a nodule on my liver. Report says Liver hemangioma. She says it's nothing to worry about but they wat to set up a MRI of my liver. If it's nothing to worry about, then why do I need an MRI?

I honestly feel like I'm going to lose my mind. I just want to find out whats wrong so I can feel better and I can't seem to get anywhere. And does anyone know what a liver hemangioma is?

Sorry for the vent.

Thank you all for your replies. I am feeling a little better about things now. Still waiting to have the MRI done. But last night I had a girls night with my 2 teenage daughters. We went to dinner and bowling. I am a bit tired today but it was SO worth it! It just really got my mind off things.

And Ren, thank you for the info. That does make me feel alot better.

I was haveing a bone scan and heart scan, and they found a nodule on my liver by accident.  They did a CT scan of my liver and said it is a hemangioma or something, nothing to worry about, pretty common.

Hey!

Oh my! It's like old home week here in the past 48 hours.  Nice to see you!

You know they want a better look at the liver via MRI right? Just to see what could be going on better. I hope it's nothing - that's it's a shadow or something and the imaging clears any possibilities of another issue. Surely you don't need anything else on your plate.

I hope they get to the bottom of it, and quick. So they can work on why your feeling so ill :(

I'm glad you came on to tell us and I hope you get some comfort in all our new faces here and hopefully some old will pop on to say hello too.

When is the MRI scheduled?

I would like to say how great it is to see you on the forum, but under the cirrumstances when you are going through such a frustrating time I am sorry that this the reason for your post is that you are dealing with such challenging ongoing health issues,

Ren has given some helpful reassuring info on the liver mass, but it is just one more thing you have to deal with. Also as you said what happened to the lung lump and mention of sarcoidosis..I suggest that you folow this up.

Thinking of you and hoping you get answers soon

Love Sarah

Hi Mandy,

Vent away!  It's good for the soul  and releases pent up emotions. As for your liver hemangioma, they are usually harmless and of no consequence. From the Mayo Clinic:

Liver hemangioma (he-man-jee-O-muh) is a noncancerous (benign) mass that occurs in the liver. A liver hemangioma is made up of a tangle of blood vessels. Liver hemangioma is sometimes called hepatic hemangioma or cavernous hemangioma.

Most cases of liver hemangioma are discovered during a test or procedure for some other condition. Most people who have a liver hemangioma never experience signs and symptoms and never need treatment.

It may be unsettling to know you have a mass in your liver, even if it's a benign mass. However, there's no evidence that an untreated liver hemangioma can lead to liver cancer.

Hopefully all of this testing will settle down and a firm dx will be made.

Take care,
Ren

Sometimes venting is the best thing for you!  I'm SO sorry that things have been so hard for you lately.  Let yourself feel angry and annoyed for awhile, and then try and do something that brings you happiness.  Hope things get better soon!
