You might get your doctor to send you for a gait evaluation or gait training with a PT trained for this. I am going to one. She has looked at my gait and come up with ideas. Sometimes they will see if you need aids like a brace or something. They can also see if you need a cane or something. I had to go to a specific PT who specialized in gait with people who have MS, strokes, and Parkinsons. She has come up with some neat ideas for me. I have a knee that faces the wrong way for example. This throws everything on both sides off.

You are going to have to see a podiatrist to fix this problem. From the way it sounds you are most likely going to have to have surgery. If it is as bad as you say they will have to cut your tendons to relieve the pressure on your toe so it can be straightened out. The sooner you get in to see one the better is will be.
I wish you the best of luck.
I'd let your doctor know, but the first thing that springs to mind is the same treatment you'd get if it were broken... tape it to the neighbouring toe with medical tape. Just a thought!
