UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

As some of you know I went to see a new ms specialist today. This was not to switch doctors but to get a second opinion on the Tysabri treatment and to get a mri on the new 3Tesla machine.
She was a wonderful doctor... she spent exactly 1 hour with me.... now 15 min. of that was talking about her hair LOL!!!  I'm a hairdresser and she's coming to see me next week for color LOL...
back to my appt., after all her questions and a very extended exam she stated that she deff. thinks I have at least 1 lesion on the spine and she also believes I most likely have one in the brain stem...
she said to stay on the Tysabri and to just be watched closely and she was ordering a mri on the brain, cervical, and thoracic on the 3Tesla.......
we went to her front office and the nurse came back and said my insurance wont pay for the 3Tesla, only the 1.5....WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT...
I started to get upset and she must have seen it in my face because she told me not to worry about it, she would wright a letter if she needed to but she would get me on the 3Tesla...
she believes the 1.5 isn't strong enough to show the lesions on my spine and that's why their not showing up..
now I'm just waiting for the call...  wish me luck guys..
hugs
April

P.S. I have 15 lesions that have showed up on the brain but nothing showing up on the spine..

This doc sounds like a keeper!  And we can add her voice to the growing number that feel the 1.5T MRI is not adequate to image the spinal cord well.  This forum has been saying that for almost two years, but we are just now hearing it in larger numbers from our better neuros.

If she says she can get it apporved, I bet she can, but good luck anyway!
