The pictures are so off on the color balance that it's difficult to tell what's going on!

I have a site reaction to Copaxone - when I first started using it, the welts were the size of a peach.  Hard, red, itchy, and swollen.  After a couple of weeks, it got a lot better.

Hey Melis,

I looked at the pics, and the area around the injection side looks really irritated.

Are the shared solutions nurses not the type to come to your house to look at the spots personally? I know the MS lifelines (Rebif) nurses make themselves available to patients for that.  If not, I'd call the Docs office to have them look at it just to be sure. Ask the Dr. how many patients he/she has on Copax? And, if this looks normal.  It's just not something that can be described away - it should be looked at.

ttys,

On my eighth day on Copaxone all my injections sites blew up into itchy welts. This was my body saying hey this is a foreign substance, perfectly normal. I took benadryl and put benadryl  creme on the sites. In a day or two they went away.

I still have a  small bump appear at my injection site 24 hours after the fact. I have been on it since April.

I'm a copax user and am a bit confused here - are the lumps under your arms?  Do you inject there or on the side of your arm?  I use the side of my arm nd do get a small knot that takes a while to go away - usually about the time I'm ready to use that spot for the next shot! :-)

You should not have multiple lumbs/bumps from your injection.  That just doesn't seem right.   Does it happen at any of the other injection sites or just your arms?

I'm sorry I've answered your question with more answers.

feel better,
Lulu

Hi there,

I'm not on Copax - but sure they'll come along when they see this.  I didn't realize they suggest under the arms as a spot to inject. You may have to avoid those areas.  I don't ice with Rebif but the nurse said that most all her patients do better with some heat 1st not the ice as suggested.  Guess you have to keep trying different ways.

I've heard about the lumps and itching w/Copax and hope it gets better for you - and soon!

Nice to see you.  Very proud of you for sticking it out w/your meds!
