Update - Neuro Opthomologist Appt

Hi again, just an update on how my appt went with the Neuro Opthomologist...I saw this specialist three years ago for vertigo and double vision, at that time he said it wasn't from anything he saw in my eyes... he remembered me and asked how I was and how things have changed etc.

He did the tests and looked in my eyes with lights etc.  I told him I do not have a Dx yet even though I deal with the MS clinic, my MRI show lesions that are consistant with MS.. he said that the MS has not damaged my eyesight yet.  He asked about the doublevision, blurry, vertigo etc...and asked how I got help when this happens.  I told him my GP put me on prednisone for 6 days at 50mg.. he wrote on this down as I was talking to him.  He didn't say much about it though.

He said he didn't see any double vision today and my vision is fine today.  He said I have a balance, movement problem and thinks it's because of my Cerebellum??  He said to be careful with sudden movements. and that sudden fast movement could make me dizzy.

my eyes would not move smoothly when I looked at the light or his finger.  He said he saw Nystgma in my eyes as well.

He walked me out of his office and said to be sure to use a cane always, he will send out a letter to my Dr and will see me in a year if not before.   I felt good about the appt.. he listened and gave some feedback.

I go for the Rehab appt tomorrow regarding my left weak leg...

You've been fighting so long and hard - I have a feeling you may be getting closer to an actual Dx.  Thinking good thoughts for you.  I'll play a tune for you tonight...

I think we all need to get behind the Dr. and PUSH him off the fence - that ought to do it!

Wobbles, good to hear it went well.  My neuro-ophtho has been the only one so far who has actually listened, and the only one who has actually helped.  Tomorrow AM I go to see yet another world-renowned neuro, to try to convince him to test and to keep on testing until we find something to explain this mess.  We'll pray this one acts like the ophtho guy.

Peace.

Well, I'm glad he is so caring of you and hope that he will emphasize the "central" nature of your problems in his report to your neurologist.  BTW - the cerebellum is the main location where we integrate all of the data our brains get about balance, where "down" is, coordination, etc.  It is commonly affected in MS.

Man, when are your doctors going to get off the fence and declare this??!
