Hi there, I've been keeping busy trying not to be anxious. Yesterday's 3 hours of vestibular testing kind of kept my mind occupied, then kind of dizzy. :o)
When I dropped off the paperwork, the woman at the desk asked me when my appointment was. I told her that I didn't have one yet, but was hoping to have one soon. She went through my papers, saw that I had the MRIs attached on CD in their little envelope, and told me that the nurse would go over things and they would give me a call about scheduling.
Nothing about when they would call, but their web site says that though they are experiencing an increased need for their care, they would do everything to schedule people as soon as possible.
I think that I'll need to check in with them on Monday, just a friendly call to see that they received all that they needed, and by the way, how soon can I come in? Maybe not quite that to-the-point, but it shouldn't hurt to ask.
With OHSU, I had to keep calling, as they had sent my file to the seizure clinic, then found it and sent it to the doctor that I had requested to see, who then sent it on to the MS specialist that just didn't work out. I was able to keep calm and polite with them, so I'll find the right words to use with this office.
Here's hoping,
Kathy
Hi Kath,
Being anxious at this point in time is surely understandable. What did they say when you dropped it off? Is there a triage type team there that sorts through your paper and decides what Dr. they feel you should see? That's how it was for me at Hopking. Or, did they say, we'll be in touch? I don't think there would be any harm in calling to see if they something all lined up. Maybe it will put you back on their radar and hopefully once it is scheduled it won't be so far off ...
ttys,

I think I received a call from Dr. M's office the 2nd week after all my info was forwarded to them by my PCP. Other than the CD of the MRI, which I took with me to the appt. If it was me, I would probably call next Wed at the latest. Good luck, I can't imagine them NOT accepting you, at least for an evaluation.
Praying for you
Maggie
As they say, "the early bird gets the worm" or "snooze you loose". Well, I don't know about the snooze you loose adage, but I'd give them a call at least by Monday and see what's up with their decision to take you. In all liklihood the docs probably haven't even gotten to the review of your case yet. I wouldn't expect to hear from them for 2-4 weeks on a new patient. That doesn't mean you need to wait that long to touch bases with them. Call them Monday, just a suggestions, and see what they have to say.
