Hi YM
Dr Whals comes dangerously close to claiming that her diet cured her of MS. She does claim that her diet helped her regain significant functionality. She also mutters, in very hushed tones, that she did take DMDs at some point.
As everyone here has said, a well balanced diet, consiting of mostly nonprocessed foods, is good for everyone. When I was diagnosed I n=knew I needed to get healthier. I worked with the naturopathic doc at my MS paractice and she revamped my diet. I lost 40 pounds, which freed up resources to fight the MS fight. Until about a month ago I was dealing with serious constipation issues. I went back to the naturopath and she tweakked my diet. It worked!
Our bodies are at war with MS. Anything we can do to help it fight (det and exercise) we should. No on here labors under the notion that diet will cure our MS :-)

As long as you understand that nothing will make your MS go away, if you want a particular diet, go for it. But as Alex says, be wary of anyone or anything promising a cure. We are NOT there yet.
When I got diagnosed with MS I started eating a better diet and started exercising. I wanted to be in the best shape I could be in. I go to the store and stock up on all in season fruits and vegetables or the farmer's market. I was a real junk food junky. I changed slowly. I have found I no longer have a taste for foods I used to eat. Even steak feels really heavy to me. Since I eat so little meat I can afford free range good cuts. I go to the farmer's market for meat. I but a chicken brine it and cook it. My over all healthy is great. I not only have MS but also advanced cancer. I have very few other health issues. Even my asthma and head aches are better.
I want to be in the best shape I am in. I also do not extra weight to carry around with my weak side.
Just be wary of anything that says cure. As long as it is a well balanced diet than go for it, it can't hurt. You can also link up with a nutritionist.

Being mindful of how we eat and taking care of our overall health is helpful for us, just as it is helpful and important for everyone. But no diet 'protocol' has been proven to effect disease course. In that sense, her diet may not harm you, but it's not legit in terms of her claims.
