Walk MS question for those who have done it

I just signed us (DH, the kids and I) for our local Walk MS. I got a very nice welcoming email from the local campaign manager, and she has very nicely answered a couple questions I had. I now have one more question and I hate to bother her again. Unfortunately, that means I'm going to bother you guys :-)

I had asked the campaign manager if I should fill out the team registration form for my kids. She said yes. My question is: can I do that online? My sister joined our team and she filled it out online. Or should I use the form that the campaign manager emailed me?

Thanks for any help you guys can give me!

Thank you for the help and encouragement!! I'm very excited to do this, it is our first fundraising effort, too. I was not sure how much I could actually raise (I don't know a lot of people in real life LOL) so we set a goal of $200. After just one day of having the widget on facebook (thanks for the tip Tonya!) we have raised $75 already!

Shell- thank you for the info about building our own team page! My husband will be looking into that tonight :-)

Lulu- 52 people and $2,000?!?! Way to go!!!

Jess,
I am also walking for the first time this year.  As of today I have 52 people on the team and hope to gather more before Saturday.  I organized the team through our local alumni chapter, but more of the walkers are from my personal contacts.

We decided to not push the fundraising this year and just focus on awareness.  That has been good to not be strongarming folks - and we have raised over $2,000.

I had no idea what to expect or how this all works - I'm learning as I go, just like you are.
congrats on jumping in and joining the fun.

Hey Jess!

I registered online this year too for the 1st time - usually I just bring my collections on the day of.  It's really pretty cool. I have a link to FB like Tonya mentions and for those interested, they can click on it and see their names scroll through. The site allows you to make your own page and you can post pictures of your team (or not) and a place where you can add offline donations.

It's really pretty fun and doesn't take very long to get through. You go to the main MS national website and then click your local society and then join the walk you are attending. It's a snap from there.

I'll not ramble too much either - but I'm just pleased w/the way the online page runs! I encourage anyone who can to do it. There is even "virtual" walkers who can join an existing team, or make one!  Ok, I'm really done going on and on...
  Enjoy! (((hugs)))

Good for you participating in the walk w/ your family!
I too participated in one here in Florida last month. It was Awesome!

The answer to your question is "yes" you can sign them up on line. Do you have your own Team you are putting togather or are you just joining a Team?  OK, never mind...I just looked up at ytour post and I think I answered my own question...you have your own Team. that is what I did also....had our own Team.  We named our Team and all made matching shirts with our Team name on it and our name on the back....So much fun!

If you have a Face Book, you can also put it up on there and ask all of your FB buddies that if they all donated JUST $5.00. Let them know they do it on line by clicking on the MS Icon that will be on your page and it is all secure and goes straight to the NMSS.

They also sent me some flyers and posters that you could hang in your local Salon, Grocerey Store. I picked places that I frequent often and asked for donations that way.
I will stop rambling....Sorry!

Have a good time and can't wait to here how it goes.
