If you use Firefox and get the Adblock Plus add-on, you don't have to suffer with all those ads.

The shrinking woman! She messed me up!
Or on Yahoo they always have those girls walking and it says "Obama asks moms to go back to work" - I hate that one too.
Ess,
I'm with Terry - I have not had that ad pop up on my screens at all that I remember. I believe there are cookies set that remember your interests and the ads you see are geared to your profile and also the current discussion.
Do you remember the shrinking woman last year who was advertising diets? She drove my eyes nuts. We discussed these visually disturbing ads at that time and someone wisely suggested reducing your screen size to only view the middle section - eliminating the left and right columns for sight. It works great!
I'm off to look for that clock - maybe I need a drink or two first.
be well,

PS I hadn't told you yet how glad I was to read you and Shell did a meet-up recently. What fun for you both.
I don't have the alarm clock (I'm in Canada, if that makes a difference) but I HATE the ads that have moving bits in them! Looking at a computer screen is hard enough on my eyes, but when there's a graphic that wiggles or jumps or something, I have to look away or refresh the page or something.
It's an ad for Microsoft Health Vault, which seems to be a way of storing your health info on line. It doesn't show up on every screen, and has been there off and on recently.
Afraid I'm stone cold sober! Not a pink elephant in sight!

okay ess I don't see the alarm clock and I am in the US...is that one of my scanning problems or have you had one too many...lol
I hope friend you know I am only joking about the one too many but really I don't see the clock.
