Jacksmom, I think it is fear...fear that causes people to not want to talk about it. It makes them uncomfortable. It is sad because we are with fear while waiting and need to be heard. If you can find just one person that will listen..a good friend?....a sibling?....a partner? it can make the road less rocky.
I hope you can find that person. For me it was my husband. He knew the deep fears I held. I could cry in front of him. He offered comfort and kept me close.
I wish that for you.

You went back to work? OK, I am not going to lecture you about doing that, you already know that probably wasn't a good idea at all. You may not feel that good tomorrow morning, so be smart and stay home if you are not well. It's not worth it - trust me.
How were you positioned during your LP? My 2nd LP was sitting on the side of the hospital bed leaning forward on the tray table with my head in a pillow. It was so much better than the 1st one which was under flourscopy guided needle. But like yourself, she kept hitting the nerve and those shocking pains down the legs really added anxiety to a routine procedure. Wish I'd gotten the valium I asked for beforehand. :)
Did they tell you how long it would take to get results?
Remember to drink plenty of fluids and caffeine is your friend tofend off the headache.

You are so lucky you have your hubby - Unfortunately I am dealing with most of this alone I have a good friend who listens but in the end she too just says don't worry it will be fine. My Boyfriend of 8 years walked away a few months ago and while he want to be back in my life his attitude as soon as I mention any possible dx is to change the subject. So I muddle thru on my own and with help of the wonderful people I have met here,

LP was done leaning over a bed with a pillow and that part was good. Yes I know about going to work I went home and crashed. Have a dull headache today. She said I would have results next week and actually while I was leaving the runner was there picking up everything to take to the lab.
Luckily I am a coffee girl so Having my 2nd cup right now!
Will keep you all posted on results and thanks a bunch!
Tracy
Hope you are feeling better today. Did you have this in a doctor's office or at a hospital? Sounds like they are really doing a good job with how they are doing their LPs. Did you go to work today? :)
Julie
I hope you are feeling ok today! From what I understand you are one of the lucky ones! Only a mild headache is fabulous! I hope this test can give you some answers!
Take care and let us know your results.
Amy
My Tests were at the Dr's Office another neurologist in the practice did it. Yes I am at work but its a quiet day boss left early so not pushing it. Going home and resting tonight as I have to work tomorrow - part time job on the weekends!
Hopefully have some answers next week -
Tracy
You came through this with flying colors. Good for you. Now it is just wait for the results. If you remember, ask the doc who calls or if you go in for a copy of the results. It would be good to have this in your own personal medical file.
Hate to hear you are working tomorrow, but still try not to do more than you have to at least for the rest of the weekend.
Stay well.
