botox for bladder

I am scheduled for monday to have it done. Little nervous because I only cath prn now and afraid ill have to do it more often after the procedure. But the pain and constant feeling of a uti will be gone so it will be worth it.

on another note started tec few weeks ago not tolerating it well severe abdominal pain. Neuro ordered starting dose again and it came in mail today will start that again tuesday after the procedure. Hopefully 2 weeks on lower dose will work otherwise my neuro suggested copaxone or no meds. I refuse to do injections but will see what happens. Anyone else having problems with tec?

thanks
kat

I had my botox done in July and am on the schedule to do it again this Friday - it was 200 units and I was thrilled with the results.  It is certainly liberating to not have to worry where the next pit stop can be made.

I had some discomfort for about 24 hours after the procedure, but then all was good.

I'm back to having normal sdden urges to go so  I know it's time to do this again.
Kat, i hope it goes well and will look for your update.

How many unit of Botox will you be getting?

I had the procedure done in July using 100 units and it was like heaven for the first time in a long time! It only lasted about 2-3 months though. Did the procedure again in January and used 200 units this time. The first week was fine but then I started retaining. Of course the MD said it could happen, and would last anywhere from a day to a week. A month later I am still having to cath on a regular basis, 3-4x per day. This will now probably be my norm for a couple of months.

On the flip side, we went to Hawaii on vacation last week, and I didn't spend the entire time there scoping out every bathroom everywhere we went, which for someone who pee'd 20 times a day and got up 5 times a night, is not so bad! In my case, I have to look at the bright side.

Will still do Botox again, but maybe 150 units next time.

Hello, Kat:

I had some very mild GI issues early on with Tecfidera. It was limited to minor stomach pains but lots of gas. Sorry to be crude. It all subsided after a few days. Are you eating before taking it?

Hi Kat,
I also had a lot of stomach issues with Tecfidera. The pharmacist suggested 2 weeks on low dose (am&pm), then 2 weeks low dose in am and high dose in pm. Then onto the full high dose twice daily. I was able to tolerate it then.
Now I'm doing great on it. I hope this helps. Best of luck with your procedure.
Regards, barb
