a chronic microvascular disease

Hi,
I, 50 age, got an car accident for 3 months ago. I was took CT Scan at hospital, which it showed nothing happen inside, but I have still had some symptoms headache, vommit, and dizzness. For my all symptoms still represent for months. My doc requested me to take MRI. My report showed the abnormal findings in the white matter. It showed me to have ischemic disease in the past, and still represent a chronic microvascular disease. The report make me confusion whether the abnormal findings in my white matter were caused by the car accident or not. If it is not, I have a question about the diseases. Before the car accident, I was a health lady. I did not get any illnesses like diabete, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and symptoms for strokes or brain disease. Does the report make wrong for me, because staffs in the laboratory made some mistakes for my information in their profile;I found it? Why did I have all diseases in the report in the past that I did not know? Do the MS and the chronic microvascular diseases have silent symptoms even for a health person? How do the diseases progress for a person?

Please helps me more understand about the disease!

Thank you very much!

I should also mention here that often MS is found through MRIs performed for other reasons.  That is pretty common because a lot of people just live with the symptoms and ignore the little warning signs until they get bigger.

I wouldn't worry too much about your report for now - be sure to follow up with the doctors and get their take on your progress.

Good luck and come back if you have other questions or need support.

I could be wrong here, but I think what they are referring to here happens as we age.  My husband has tiny white spots, the kind that they "ischemeic disease".  His neurologist at the time said not to worry about the tiny white spots on his mri, because they were common as we age.  He doesn't have high cholesterol or high blood pressure either.

It does seem like what you are dealing with may be due to complications from your car accident.  Have they checked your neck?  If you have a problem in your cervical spine, it would cause dizziness, headaches, and vomiting.  I think you should perhaps see a chiropractor.  X-rays of your C-spine will help.  I also have scoliosis, and have had degenerative disc disease in my cervical spine.  I also had the symptoms you describe.  I hope you get this checked on soon.  Your neck (cervical spine) is very vulnerable in a car accident.  This really could be the cause of your problems.

I truly hope you get the answers you need, and begin to feel better soon.
