CNS's dish of the day

this morning I woke up with numbness in the 5 fingertips of the left hand! makes me a bit clumsy to leaf through the pages of a book for example.

does it sound like MS to you?

I had weakness/sort of "sciatica" on the left hand, left foot and pain (one time twitching) in the left eye.

This morning there is no significant weakness or pain, just numbness in the fingertips like "out of the blue"

That was my first symptom and it lasted several weeks.  I had always thought I was developing carpel tunnel.  I then experienced L'hermittes - an electric shock that ran down my arm when I bent my chin down.  This is what got me shockingly diagnosed after having a spinal MRI.  If it persists do get it checked out and don't ignore it.

I'm getting that "sciatica-like" feeling on the left hand.. again... so I don't know I guess the numbness in the fingertips was a "random" manifestation...

thanks, same to you!

yes I've been keeping a journal since September 2011 and that was my "salvation". I found out later checking the journal that this all started after some cold/sinusitis in September.  so many determinant facts that I could read in the journal and otherwise I'd have forgotten. It's incredible what people forget, places they've been, things they did, drugs they have taken even symptoms they've had.

I even made a drawing of the current situation

after saying it to the doctors, writing it, I thought it would be easier to visualise it.

Sounds like you have several symptoms.  My advice to you would be keep of journal of how you're feeling for future reference should you ever have more problems.  I wish the best for you and hope you are the way to healing :)

Take care,
Jeny

thank u both. doctors said I have nothing, they just dumped me.
MRI only showed sinusitis. although they did spot something on the left tibial  on the EMG and they found high C3 which I never checked again.

This numbness in the fingertips for me it seems to be a symptom "on the way" to healing of the left hand.

I'm saying because I had this weakness and sort of "sciatica" on the left hand/arm for months, then the other day I had this new numbness in the fingertips sensation which lasted for half a day and from then on the hand seems to be better.

so maybe it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be the beginning of a condition but maybe the end, in the sense of a "bus stop" where you can happen to stop moving in opposite directions. it's possible that it had already happened when this thing began and I don't even remember.

all is left now is weakness in the left foot but that's on the improving side too. I never had any treatment. only chewed a lot of garlic recently and I used in the past days a cream called Elidel which is a immune suppressor for psoriasis but I don't think it had anything to do with the improvement, only a coincidence.

If I'll have a severe relapse of the symptoms or "MS attack" I guess I'm gonna have to go back to the doctors.

thanks and good luck to you too!

That was also my first symptom. Mine only lasted about a week before I had my first major MS attack. I sure don't mean to scare you, but I think you should definately have a doctor check it out.  Good luck, I truly hope things turn out well for you!
Hugs,
Deb
