Just a question?  does anyone else have difficulty when reading the posts?  What I mean by that is when you scroll down to quickly does it make you dizzy?  I've noticed that for some time now.  Also when reading the small print posts I feel dizzy?  What's up with this?
Thanks,
Mary Beth

Thanks feel like I'm going crazy lately.  I've also noticed it on looking at a fan and yes even the television set.  Thanks for the advice I will go have my eyes checked and will mention it to my neuro. when I go March 5th.  What do you think the transposition of letters and words mean?  Also sorry but don't know what VNG stands for?

Thanks
Mary Beth

You guys nailed it!  I also have problems with the scrolling making me sick and dizzy.  It is a problem with eye tracking and one that is somewhat more likely to be central - meaning brainstem.  The eyes have a complex neurological wiring that allows us to focus on an object, follow it at high speeds, and then capture another object and focus on it.  I no longer can watch basketball or any of the quick direction-change sports.

If a light-rail train, like we have in Portland, that runs on the city streets just a foot or so away from the sidewalk, passes close by I literally fall back.

The problem with the pain pills is that the reflexes which allow eye pursuit are slowed and also that the pupil constricts so that small things are more difficult to focus on.

MB - With the problem of following moving things - pursuit - that is tested along with vertigo.  I would recommend having a VNG with a neuro or an ENT that treats vestibular disorders.  But, a good check of your eye is also a great idea.

As for typing.  I have both the right finger on the wrong hand problem and the transposing two adjacent letters in a word problem.  Sometimes when I'm tired I'll transpose in alsomt every word.

The only time I get dizzy is right after I've taken a pain pill.  When that happens I hold down the control key and push the plus key until the print gets to the size I need.  It works every time.

I'll be praying,

I am not dx, but I do have the problems with the scrolling.  I don't so much get dizzy as I have the feeling you get with motion sickness.  My biggest problem lately is I can't be on the computer for long before my eyes get wonky.

About the typing, I have always been a great typist, but this year I have to reread everything I type and correct before I post.  I transpose letters and sometimes actually type the complete wrong word!

Like I said I am undx, but am having some of the same problems as you.

Thanks for the reply, but I've had this way before I started Trileptal.  I've only started that med this week.  The dizziness when scrolling has been for quit some time.

Thanks,

Another question unrelated, when I type I seem to be using the the direct opposite letter on the other hand?  or forgetting letters altogether?  Sorry I know that sounds confusing.  Heres an example instead of typing r i would type u, the exact position but different hand.  I've always been super good at typing without errors now its gotten progressively worse any ideas?  Thanking you in advance,

Mary Beth,

I was having trouble with just seeing the screen until someone pointed out the font enlarger at the top of the page AAA in boxes .  It helps.

I just got progressive lens , what a pain ..  I see better without the glasses, using the large font .

I think I have a general dizziness. Off and on

Good Luck        Jo

I do NOT have any dizziness when scrolling down the page.

This may have to do with what Zilla said, medication side effects.

I hope things go better for you...really I do.

I'm not sure, Mary Beth.  Wait and see what others say.  It may be that the scrolling makes everyone dizzy.  Maybe it's the trileptal.  Let's see what others say.  Is the dizziness new?
