does anyone have depression, and on a DMD? I know some say it may make it worse......
Excellent!
No preference - but, just consider the schedule you'll likely stick to. I'm on Rebif and feel it's doing me well. No major attacks since my first biggie, only small and chronic stuff. I'll take it over constant relapse anyday.
Your doc may have a preference - I'd ask for sure.
Hi Candy,
I'm in the same place as you - trying to choose a DMD. I'm torn between Avonex and Copaxone. Let us know which DMD you decide on!
Thanks everyone, yes, we talked to the Dr. and said it could also be from the antibiotics, but today it seems better..... but they do know, and I feel lucky to be going to UBC next week, and yes Shell we are writing it down and I will take a list of my meds. I'm also hoping that she will put me on a DMD...... do you have a preferrance? I was thinking Copaxone , some other people have suggest Tysabri, but I don't llike the risks with that one.....
I will find out next Thurs. and will keep you posted, thanks again all for your comments, and suggestions, I really do appreciate it..

Hi Candy,
Definitely tell the doctor about the hives after the shower. Hives come about from an allergy, and they often prescribe steroids for an allergy.
It's important to have this documented, and have a list of all meds you are on. Keep a journal (sounds silly I know) My guess is this is not be from the prednisone, but from something else lurking your body deems foreign, and the heat along w/this unknown allergy in casing causing the hives. Just my opinion from what I've learned about our immune system and allergic reactions.
While it may only seem slightly bothersome, you wouldn't want to be in the situation where a secondary reaction is much, much stronger. And, keep a bottle of benadryl around until you get to the bottom of the cause.
Super-super important to tell the doctor Candy-Girl :)

Strange, talked to a girl yesterday at infusion who said steroids "kicked butt" with her sinus infection! Guess it covers each in a different way.
Taking steroids with a sinus infection can cause the infection to go out of control. And yes, skin eruptions following steroids is a common side effect. This is not to state you should not take the steroids, however you should be involved in the decision as to whether it is best to defer use of the steroids until after the infection is resolved. It is not an easy question to answer. Sinus infections are notoriously hard to treat and sometimes require surgery (often high pressure water jets). Steroids help MS because they depress the immune system. There seems to be evidence that some cases of MS are caused by an HERV-W infection, which is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of the nerves. The steroids tone down the inflammation, and sometimes put the organism into remission.
I would definitely call the pharmacy and/or the doctor. Better to be on the safe side!
Sorry you are in another relapse.
I wouldn't know about the rash because I can't take hot baths with my MS it really messes me up.
I hope you get some answers when you go to Vancouver...keep us informed!
Hugs,
Paula
