Update

Just wanted to give everyone an update. I have been feeling alot better over the last week. I had my first shot of Rebif on friday and it was alot easier than I expected. I had no pain, but I have developed a red area around the injection site and felt pretty lousy on saturday. Next shot will be tonight so we'll see how this one goes.

I will be having my 1st appt with a local MS specialist in a week. I have been preparing a notebook with my timeline and test results. The neuro that diagnosed me with probable MS is a headache specialist and really couldn't answer alot of my questions. So my PCP wanted me to go to a specialist for my MS care.

I am a little concerned about the appt though. I have read where people have been diagnosed, gone to another neuro and had the diagnosis taken away. I just hope a don't have a problem with the new doc since I was diagnosed with no lesions on spine and negative VEP and LP. I was in a flare when I saw the 1st neuro and I have come out of that now so the new neuro won't get to see the signs I had. I'm probably stressing out over nothing but i have read so many horror of how neuro's have treated others and I just dont want to experience that.

I'm glad your feeling better, and hope that your appt goes well, I understand how you must be concerned as you have read how Dx can be taken away.

it's not easy seeing another Neuro after another one.. I too see different ones at the MS clinic.  I hope you get some information from the MS Specialist and it goes well.

do you have Brain lesions?  I don't have any Spinal one  and a neg LP...

take care and try not to worry..

I'm glad your feeling too, and I'm glad that the Rebif shots seem to be going well too.

It is very scary going to a new neuro. Just remember, that spinal lesions are very hard to see on the MRI, and you don't have to have a positive LP, or VEP, to have MS. A good MS specialist will know this.

Wobbly is right...Try not to worry.

Thank you for your comments. I need to try not to worry so much. I do have brain lesions though I'm not sure how many. The radiologist report mentioned 1 but the neuro looked at the CD and said there were several, so no need to repeat with contrast as suggested on report. So hopefully ~ will be seeing a good specialist next week.  I'm feeling pretty lousy today. My nunbness in my left hand seems to be coming back and I feel like I might have a urinary tract infection~ which I have never had before. Guess I may be off to the PCP tomorrow.

I meant to say..I'm glad your feeling better too..but I'm sure you knew that :) I'm glad your getting that UTI taken care of quickly. You won't be feeling very good for long. It could bring on a pseudio exacerbation and that would mean your symptoms would be back until the infection was cleared up.

Hi there,
all the best with your new specialist, I hope it works out good.  Don't waste your energy on worrying about something that might never happen. (mind you this is easier said than done)

Do get to your PCP if you suspect a UTI as this could be making your symptoms worse too.  Unfortunately with MS UTIs are often a common problem.

I am glad you are coping with doing injections, you seem to be taking things in your stride, a UTI would make anyone feel lousy.

Hope you feel better soon, update us on how you go with your new neuro.
