hi jep
thank u xx
i rang neuro office my lp results are back, neuro been on holiday he looking at my results tomorrow then making appointment for me..

Hi Jan,
Not that I've any real idea, but my understanding would be that it's best for you to wait until you've seen your neuro before you completely accept the diagnosis. Unfortunately some locum doctors don't really read the medical history properly and a note on your records which says something to the extent of 'suspected ms' may have been misinterpreted as you actually having a diagnosis.
Maybe it would be an idea to ring your neuro's office again now it's the 6th September and find out when you'll be seeing the neuro for the LP results.
Good luck,
Jep
Hi,
Yes, I hope you get the right medication soon.
When I saw my ophthalmologist last she had put in her letter to my neuro MS. Since my neuro has not officially given me my diagnosis, he told me "not" to put my eye doctor down on any insurance papers because my health insurance will go up.
I decided to take my neurologist's advice at this present time until he puts it on paper. I just wanted to let you know.

hey jan,
don't you hate that "on vacation until..." notice? i hope you manage to get in soon next week with your neuro. to get it all sorted.
and about the diagnosis, i feel the same way...not that anyone wants a dx, but if it helps to get us on the right track, it is exactly what we want in the end!

Hi Sarah xxx
i think i just want the right medication to help me mostly - whatever it is.. xxx
pain killers dont do my neuro probs much good, but do help with the pain in my back and left arm which is extremely painful if i just move it a certain way.. its still numb pins needles after 8 month so think its time they sorted me out with some relief medication
lots love jsn xxxx
I am sure that your GP will have evidence from your neuro and notes that you have MS. He would not have written this on a sick note otherwise. Let's hope that you can speak to your neuro soon as you need an appointment asap to discuss this. It is certainly not the right way to receive a dx and you need the opportunity to ask all those questions that come to mind.
Thinking of you and stay positive...if it is for certain at least all that uncertainty is over and you can move forward, but it will take time for it to sink in..so allow yourself this and try and rest and relax.
Love Sarah x
Hi Tonya & All
No unfortunetly there was no discussion as such, he was a locum dr but he did read my notes on the computer. im wondering if my LP results were on the system and he never said anything, hence leaving the final word and dx to my neurologist. I didnt question him because every time i ask at the dr,s they just keep saying wait until you see your neurologist. I see neurologist when LP results are back. i have rang his office but they on holiday until after the 6th september..

Hello :)
I agree with Joe in that perhaps the Neuro has already "got with" your PCP and your PCP already has a Head Up on your DX and was able to write your DX down for your Employer.
When is it that you go back to Neuro? hope you are feeling well and have had a good week so far. Keep us posted.
Best Wishes,
~Tonya
Could you just ask your GP how he came to that conclusion and if he himself considers this an official dx? Was there any discussion or did you just hand you or send you the certificate? Hope it wasn't the latter, that would be a pretty abrupt approach to delivering a dx.
For Your GP To State MS On Your Sick Note He Must Have Had Guidance From Your Neuro ie Letters Etc.
You Know As Well As I Do That The DWP Go On Facts And Not Guesswork,
If The DWP Take No Notice Of What The GP Says Then Whats The Point Of Sending Sick Notes In, Do You Know What I Mean.
Anyway Keep Well In Yourself And Take Care.
Regards Joe.
Jan,
The NHS system is so entirely different from what we have here in the States. I think I would not be counting it as official yet, until the neuro weighs in. Doesn't the neurologist have the final say for testing and treatment? The neuro may very well reverse what your GP has written.
Either way, I'm sure you are in a bit of the usual shock that happens when we finally get the name of the MonSter identified. It takes some time to absorb the reality of it.
be well, Lulu
hi red xxxx hope u are ok
thank u i will be resting im a bit shocked to be honest
jan xxx
hi paula thank u
i do hope so, but first time in 8 months they wrote ms on my sick notes xxxx

I would say that it is a definite diagnosis of MS. Doctors don't 'fudge' on things like diagnoses especially something like this. There are also legal implications for him if he was stating a diagnosis that isn't there
Get some rest today

Hi Jan,
I am pretty sure that your neuro has to officially say it is MS. At least you have one doctor who is confident in what is going on.
But then I am not a doctor so maybe it will count. Will be looking forward for other answers to see what they say.
Good luck and be well
Paula
