3T MRI help?

Hi Everyone,

I had my 3T MRI today and was given the disc with the images but will probaly have to wait until Tuesday to pick

up the report. Is anyone here able to read the images? I'm very curious about them but have no idea what I'm even

looking at. If anyone is willing to look I can post them.

Thanks,
Krista

Wow thanks for all the feedback guys! All of you are right. I know I need to wait to hear from my doctor about my actual results but at the same time I can't help wondering. I hate waiting for answers but my doctor was very honest and told me it will take time to figure everything out (but it doesn't make it any easier). Thanks again for all of your feedback :)

I'll confess.   I do look at mine, and have looked at them more than once. In spite of all the reading I do about MRI's I still can make little sense of my pics.

What little bit I do understand comes from my time with my neuro looking at the pics together.

Radiologists and neurologists spend years learning how to read these things - and that's why they get paid the big bucks!  LOL

be well, Lulu

Confucious say:  He who reads his own MRIs has fool for a radiologist.

I certainly don't try to read mine, but I also trust my neuro to do it.

   Hello :)

Whenever I pick up my disc there is a choice when you first put the disc in the computer that says "View the Report"  or "Looking at the actual pix".

I am also "Nosey" when I get my MRI's done......to go ahead and take a 'Peak"
I also agree with what the others have said...........Sometimes if there is no report  (or even if there is one) we tend to take that "Peak" and get a bit anxious. But then again, we get anxious waiting....Lol

Anyhow, w/ all my jabbering......I hope I made some kind of sense  :0
And as Red had mentioned...The Neuro is going to look over it even w/ the Radiologist Report. That is becasue sometimes the Neuro will not always agree w/ what the Rdiologist has said but rather on his own findings.

Take Care,
~Tonya

Hi Krista,  Alex is right we really can't interpret the films,  we sure wish we could.  All of us get copies of them so we have them for future reference.  Like if a new doctor wanted to look at them.  I know how hard it is to wait---it's horrible.

Even when you pick up the report, know that your neurologist will be looking at them too.  He/She is the one that has final 'say'.

These things are best interpreted by a Neurologist. My first MRI, my Neurologist was leaving town for another job and sent me the report in the mail. A little knowledge can freak you out. Finally six months later a Doctor sat down and explained the report. I had freaked out needlessly by statements in the report. I looked things up on line. Since then I wait for a Neurologist's interpretation which can even vary.

An MRI by itself often is not enough for a diagnosis of MS. Not being Doctors ourselves I think it is a bit out of line for us to interpret anything before a Neurologist has talked to you.

You take care of yourself
