changing meds

Hi all.  I have been on REBIF for a year now.  I am due for a follow up MRI at the end of this month, and will see my neuro in Feb.

I have been very tired and feeling very emotional - off and on - for this past year.  But so much has happened - my dx, having to leave my job due to symptoms - not being able to exercise like I used to - (my running always helped me keep all things in perspective!)
But I'm wondering if some of my feelings of depression could be caused by the Rebif.  I have never taken anti-d before - tried lexapro for a little while when first dx, but didn't like the side affects so went off.
So I'm thinking of going off the rebif to see if my mood improves.

For those on copaxone: how do you like it - any side affects - and does betaseron have same side affects as Rebif?

If my MRI shows no changes I'm also thinking about getting off all meds.  Just kind of tired of feeling lousy - and I'm blaming the Rebif.
Thanks ,
Carol

The interferon drugs are known to cause depression, so be sure to talk to your doc about that. It can be treated.  Copaxone doesn't have that side effect  and that is a reason why I chose it over Rebif.

As for stopping the drug because you haven't had any changes - please think about that.  It is very possible that you don't have changes because the drug is doing what it is intended to do - stopping or slowing the progression.  That's why we jab ourselves with those needles - hoping to make the MS stop.  If you stop doing the treatment you very well could go back into progressing with your MS.  I hope that makes sense.

be well, Lulu

The biggest issue I have had over the last 30+ days taking Copaxone is 30 min of itching after the injection.  I don't use the autoinjector, I just stick myself.   I suspect that Betaseron has the say side effects as Rebif since they are both interferon based drugs.
