I totally feel you on that one! Stress gets so bad I feel like I'm losing my mind. I get really confused and can't figure anything out. Like I'm lost in my own head.
I can't wait for it either. I will post what it was like on here.
Huggies,
Kelli

Thank you so much for the insight! I feel better about it. No need to stress as that makes our disease worse. (Right?)
Thank you to everyone who gave me some things to know that I don't need to worry. Appreciate it very much!

I had my tests done here in the UK, I had one hour of tests done each week for 8 weeks. It was done in that way to stop me tiring. But the tests were not an issue and the neropsych's assistant that carried them out was lovely.
I'm glad they were done as they validated the issues I had been complaining about for a long time and made me realise that my compalints were real. They did a number of tests to check my pre MS intellect and ability first as there are parts of your cognition that are not affected by MS and it can be measured. I was totally convinced until I had the tests done that my problem was memory.
The results showed that my pre MS ability on average was in the top 4% of my peers and for pictorial recall and manipulation the top 1%, I was gald about that with a PhD I should be!!
But my attention was well below average and a number of other areas were also either average or below average which is not something you would expect to see in someone of my intellect. This indicated that the MS has impacted my congition.
So it was not my memory causing problems but attention, I was not actually taking in what was being said in the first place! So of course I couldn't remember it. I have now a number of coping strategies in place and I am still working full time at the University as a lecturer.
See http://www.stayingsmart.org.uk/ for some good coping strategies.
Don't worry whatever is happening it is usually not that serious and we can cope.
Good luck Pat x
I had neuropsych evaluation a few years ago... it took a few hours. Basically they are checking short and long term memory, fine motor skills and other things I can remember (lol). It's not anything to stress over. Relax... it will be fine and don't worry about how you are going to do on these tests, everyone is different. Good Luck!

I had cognitive testing done a couple of weeks ago. It took about 1 1/2 hours. There was a fine motor test (timed me as I put in and took out pegs from a holder). There was a listening comprehension piece where they read a story and had me tell as many details as I could. They gave me a list of items and had me recall the list throughout the session. Finally, there was a test where they gave numbers and I had to add the last number to the new number as well as a number recall test.
Don't let it stress you out (like it stressed me out!). I walked out feeling terrible (and exhausted) because I thought I did SO BAD. I went back a week later to discuss the results and I did average to above average in all sections.
Good luck!
That is probably what your Neuro was talking about as it is the standard test for checking cognition problems.

Ok, and I just now saw the post about the neuro phych eval. Now I'm wondering if they are the same things?
and ooops I spelled cognitive wrong. Sorry
