cold feet and the microwave

Recently there was a post where the members were discussing cold feet as a symptom and how to deal with it.  One member said they microwaved their socks for a quick burst of warmth.  My feet as so cold they hurt.  Today I was going to put another pair of socks over the pair I had on.  I remembered the post.  So I stuck the 2nd pair in the microwave for 45 secs.  It was heaven.  I think I am addicted and I am going to take up sitting by the microwave...just kidding...but I may be addicted.  Whoever wrote that post...thank you.

30 seconds and counting

I vote to put it back.  It is kind of like TV, you don;t have to read it if you don't want to.  Besides it was implied...nothing said...So IT WAS ALL IN OUR HEADS!!!!

Q-Please, with all the discussions we have around here about bodily functions you think not a one of us would find that joke funny?  Silence does not necessarily mean disapproval, I was already in bed sound asleep!! Lu

Even if you don't un-delete it, can you PM it to me?  I feel like I'm missing out!  I was never even in the girl scouts, and was kicked out of Sunday school.

Who says it was inappropriate? Rather bawdy, yes, but this isn't a group of girl scouts. We've all heard much "grosser." So undelete or leave it be, your move.

And be sure to gobble gobble gobble tomorrow!

No, I had put in a twisted joke which met with dead silence after 13 hours.  So I deleted it.  It was a bit baudy and twisted.

Sorry to anyone who read it and was offended.

Rena - Oh, the thought of microwaving the wrong socks!  What a horrible spectre!!

I would like to mention that it would be nice if the following were stressed before putting socks in the microwave:

PLEASE ENSURE THAT THEY ARE CLEAN!!!  IF MY HUSBAND PUT HIS WORN SOCKS IN THE MICROWAVE WE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE HOUSE FUMIGATED FOR DAYS!!!

I will never advise that my husband put any socks in the microwave for his cold feet...he just might mix up clean ones with dirty ones and we would also have to buy a NEW Microwave! he he he he

Dearest Den Mother,

I think you gave a great laugh amidst some great toasty advice!  I thought the same thing you did, and was relieved to see the practical tips being shared as opposed to any dangerous entanglements!

I recently bought some big fluffy purple slippers that are both amusing and comfy.

Hope everyone is keeping warm!

I apologize for my joke.  Apparently it was in poor taste.  My humor is sometimes like that and I wrote it in the midddle of the night, when I tend to be inappropriate.

Sorry, guys

About the potatoes - Yes.

A skinny weakling and a buff studly guy were on a beach.  The weakling asked the fit guy to give him some tips on picking up women.

The Adonis told him, "You need to get a potato and put it in your swimming trunks.  The girls will flock around."

A few days later the skinny guy came back and asked for more tips.  He said, "I tried the potato thing and I did get more attention from girls.  They looked at me, but then they just looked away."

The guy with the muscles said, "Well, try putting the potato in the front."

See, another use for potatoes.

I was thinking electric socks...they operate on a 9v battery.  We used to use these for when we went ice fishing.

Now if they could only find pants like this so it works for the cold bum cheeks.

Mary Kay it is so good to see you on line.  Yes I think I would walk to your place to get something if it would warm my feet.  Maybe as you fly over KY you could parachute it out...what do ya think?  And ladies if Santa brings warm furry fuzzy thingys to your house and I don't get any I am going to be mad!

Many years ago, people put these soapstone chunks near on on the woodstove to warm up the bed.  I have a couple of those...want one?   Actually, I have also heard of putting baked potatoes in your pockets to keep your hands warm.  Wonder if there is a further use for the potatoes?  Those microwave slippers sound awesome!
Hugs,
Mary Kay

You can buy the furry kind of slippers which have a little pouch inside, right over the toes and top of the foot, and rice(?) thingies that can be warmed. You micro the thingies briefly, insert then into pouches, insert feet into slippers, and voila!  Heaven. Ask Santa for these!

I've seen socks that have something sewn into the bottom, probably rice or something like that, so that they hold the heat longer.  I've been considering trying to find some, because my feet get really icy. I have lots of big fuzzy socks, and sometimes put them on over my regular socks to try to get my feet warm.

I like the idea of microwave socks!

I did that once, try to put my socks in the microwave to warm them up.  But guess what happened?  I'll give you one guess and a little hint:  Smoke everywhere!!!!!!  Now I know to put them in for 45 seconds not 45 minutes  :)
