enough is enough

For the last two weeks I have been light headed and dizzy every day. It starts about 2 hours after I get up in the morning, like that is the limit of my ability to do anything, even if I don't do anything but watch TV.  If I lay down and take a nap for a couple of hours I will again have about 2 hours before it starts up again.

I'm beginning to think that the Urodynamic testing that was done on me on the 1st may have put me into another flare of symptoms due to maybe an infection from the botched catherization that doctor did on me.

Dennis,
Glad to hear you're feeling better! Sometimes we just never know why we have bad days or why they suddenly turn into good days! I just wish the good days would outnumber the bad!

Housework! :(  That used to be a breeze! And I actually enjoy the sense of accomplishment! But anymore,I'm doing good to wash my dishes, bag the garbage and take it out! Occasionally the bed gets made! With the pain I'm in,I usually go from bed to recliner.

Well today has been the first day that I haven't had the dizzy and lighthead feeling in 2 weeks. I sure hope that this means I'm over whatever has been causing this as I don't like it at all. It makes it hard to do any kind of housework with this going on every day.

I'm pretty sure it hasn't been the heat as as I had this going on when my home was only 68 degrees and also today was the hottest day inside my home so far reaching 85 degrees. I've also been wearing my cooling vest which is a constant 59 degrees. The heat index here today reached 111 degrees, so if it was the heat I should have still been having the problems.

I don't think I really had a UTI, but some other kind of infection going on. It seems just too coincidental that for 3 days after the testing I had blood in my urine, and this started  the second day after the testing.

Wobbly,

IT was the nausea that sent me to my bed the first day for a nap. Kind of reminded me of the only time I ever got sea sick while in the Navy. That was when we went through the outer edge of a hurricane. Kind of like I lost the input to my brain from my senses, it no longer knew what position my body was in. I have not mentioned this to any of my doctors as of yet as I don't think they could have done anything either. All I really knew was that I couldn't make the 2.5 hour trip to Nashville as I was not able to go for more than about 2 hours without the problems.

Sorry to hear your having these that last so long, does your Dr have any ideas on how to help?  I get Vertigo every few days that can last on and off through the day.  I too can't do anything as long as they last which is only 20 minutes or so.  Then I'm nauseated etc.  my Dr can't help me with them either.  It's not an easy way to live I know, hope you get some relief soon

Take care and rest, that's about all you can do.

Watching TV might be something you should avoid, Dennis!  Napping, on the other hand, sounds like its working for you!

Seriously, very sorry to hear you're having this problem.  I am off-balance at least part of every day, but it hasn't normally been really severe this round, at least not for very long at a time.  I've been somewhat careful to use the word "off-balance" or similar terms.  If I say "dizzy," many people think "faint," which I am not (until one of those waves of fatigue comes; I hate those).  It's just that gravity seems to jump from one direction to another sometimes.

Heat is bad right now many places.  Drink lots of water, and if you think you have a UTI, I'd suggest getting it checked out ASAP.  I've seen those get ugly fast.

Hey, get well soon, brother.

Dennis,
While that's not an impossibility, lightheadedness is a symptom I've had from time to time.I just think there are activities and other triggers that bring it on....like heat! Even with the AC on,if it's hot outside, and I get just a little active,I start feeling bad.

I'm just thankful (and keep praying it will stay away from me!) that I've only had one episode of vertigo! I felt like I was at sea!
