envoked potential tests question

my neuro just did a cat scan an emg and all three envoked potential tests on me. During the visual where i had to look at the checker boards i kept blinking and was having a hard time focusing. Does anyone know if this could affect the results of the test? Also is there any indication by the way the body responds to weather or not the tests are abnormal. Like with the visual hard time focusing and blinking and when they sent the electricty through my hand it was making other parts of my body have the spams like i usually do.

Thanks all. I go back on thursday to get my results so hopefully they have the results of everything since some of you have experienced delays getting your results. Docs thoughts are leaning towards ms or myclonus. my brother was just diagnosed with ms so its pretty scary. And all my crazy dreams i have been having lately do not help lol

VEP measures the time changes on the screen take to get to the optical cortex.  They do this test on stroke patients. As long as your eyes are open, and your retina works, the test will provide data.

I had my VEP and SSEP done on April 6th and I still did not get my results yet. But I can tell you that my technician said that it is OK to blink. And they do not stop until they get some good data. So I would not worry about it. About the SSEP I do not know much because they gave me a pill that made me sleepy and I do not remember much.
I did not get my results even now for my EPs, 3 weeks after the tests. For the LP they called after 2 weeks to let me know it was normal.

As far as I know the blinking and not focusing with teh EVP will only make it take longer to get the results I don't believe that will make it abnormal.  As for the emg I do not know how that works, that is one test I haven't had done and don't plan on doing all those needle sticks and the elctricity is a scary thought lol. I will get them done if the doc thinks it is necessary but I will avoid them at all costs.

the memory issue is something I think we all go through and it could have just been cause because you were nervous about the test or just not thinking about it at the time and went with it. don't be too overly concerned with it at this point unless it continues to be like that.

Hopefully the tests will give you some answers. Take care and keep us informed.
