exacerbation progression?

Hello,

So, I started having very strange tingling and numbness about a week ago in my extremities and sometimes head. It progressed to now feeling a tightness and constant dizziness and I have no ability to concentrate on anything. Never has this been painful, but very noticeable and irritating. Now, the sensations are being felt mainly in my right leg and left arm. I am having some eye twitches today. This is just terrifying.

Until my neuro appointment, I am trying to be positive and not panic. But, I cannot imagine what else this could be besides the beginning (first exacerbation???) of MS. I know there are a lot of mimics out there, etc. But, what else could this possibly be if my blood work shows that I have no vitamin deficiencies?

Hi Lulu,

I have done nothing but read about MS for the last week. I am now an expert. I am obsessing and I know I should not...but I am.

This very unhealthy thinking happening is that I just cannot imagine it NOT being MS. What else could be effecting me this way? I have had the tingling, numbness, somewhat weakness and total cloudiness over thinking. I have had an upset stomach, on again and off-again since I had my baby 9 months ago.

I have a lot of anxiety about this (clearly) and since I am someone who thrives in predictability, etc the potential unknowns scare me to no end. I have two young kids and an active lifestyle. I just want to go back to feeling how I did nine days ago and am so scared that I never will.

jek,

Vitamin deficiencies are only one possible cause of tingling/numbness.  It also can come from: Lyme disease, vascular problems and migraines to name a few.

You can have these symptoms for up to a year or longer from a virus as well.

We have  very good health pages  that talk about the whole process of diagnosing MS.  For now, from what you have listed, there is just not enough there to be overly concerned that this is MS.   Is there a reason you think it might be?

I hope to hear more from ou,
Lulu
