follow up with nero

Hi.
I was seeing a nero due to headaches and pain behind my eyes when he was certain it was chronic daily headaches I pushed for a mri. The mri shows 2 large lessions. When seein him he said they are nothing to do with ur headache, if u had ms symtoms I would diagnose ms however u don't have symtoms so don't think its anything but may be ms in future. Very confused as I was diagnose with pars planitis 4 yrs ago and mentioned if this was enough evidence, he said no and to get on with my life, he is not sure if this means I am at a higher risk for ms and said the lessions on the brain could be nothing. Really no answer at all. Any one else had similar experience xxxx

No  other tests offered.  He is going to write to my gp to say he would advise no futher teting.

he advised
the long tr sequences show multiple areas of white matter and suborticol white matter high signal.

7*4mm lession lying under the left insular cortex 7mm lession is seen adjacent to the body of the right lateral ventricle but no posserioa fossa lessions are seen and no corpus lessions are noted there is no evidence of diffusion on any lessions.

He basicaly said i dont have ms just now, but not clear if i will in future and its just a waiting game

FUN!!!  LOL

Hi there and welcome to the forums.

Depends on where your lesions were located to determine what could possibly be the cause of it.  And even then, some lesions that are in certain areas of the brain that are MS locations doesn't mean you have MS.  There are lots of diseases and/or conditions that can cause lesions on your brain, including headaches.

Now as far as you having symptoms, there are people here (I read at least one or two) who have a diagnosis of MS and are asymptomatic at this time.    So with that said, he was wrong in suggesting such.  There are people who are diagnosed with MS who do not have lesions visible on MRI but show clinical lesions.

I'm not stating you have MS nor could anyone here say so, doctor or not. I'm not a doctor I would think with your diagnosis of pars plantis that there is a "cause" as to why you have it which includes autoimmune diseases, viruses and even in healthy people.

To answer your question, no I have not had this experience as you have, but I do have lesions on my brain that are nonspecific and have progressed in 4 years (not much only two).  I still do not have a diagnosis but continue to suffer from neurological symptoms.

Did your Neurologist state as to what caused your Uveitis?  Did he state where the lesions were located?

I would say that if he does not offer any explanation other than "get on with your life" and "if you had MS symptoms he would diagnose you with MS" then I believe or it is "my" opinion to seek a second opinion.

Has he ordered any laboratory tests including autoimmune panels, syphilis, lyme, thryoid, etc?  What were the results?

I wish you the best and hope I was somewhat helpful.

Lisa
