Humming, are you able to drink alcohol?
I recommend making a tincture with alcohol. Use good marijuana and an alcohol with a high proof, like Everclear. You won't be drinking more than a few tablespoons of it per day, so don't worry.
Take the maryjane and remove *all* stems and seeds, then heat it for about ten seconds in a microwave. Then place it in a jar with the alcohol, seal the lid, and wrap it in aluminum foil. Put it in a dark corner of your cabinet for a while. Two weeks at least, more is better. When the time has elapsed, strain the material from the liquid. Many people flavor the liquor with citrus - lime or lemon oil is good for this. It also masks the obvious herbal qualities!
There's a website which I won't post here, but do a search for 'Green Dragon' on Google, and you'll find it.
Administer the liquid with an eyedropper. The website says that one dropper-full is enough, but either I'm not using strong enough stuff, or I've developed an immunity.
If you can't drink alcohol, THC is soluble in oil. You can 'fry' the herb in oil, then remove the herb and use the oil in what you're cooking. Make sure that it masks the scent, of course!
Best of luck - and be very careful, as big brother is watching. And taking notes.

My sister is a medical marijuana grower here in Oregon, and I know she mentioned a device that heats the leaf so the THC is released without having to inhale the harsh smoke. Unfortunately, she and I have lost touch, or I would call her and ask her what it was called and where you can find it.
Perhaps doing an internet search will turn up what I'm desparately trying to describe but can't remember the details of. She also made a tincture from the plants that could be added to syrups or whatever to improve the taste, and made a topical cream to rub into sore areas. I never tried her products, but she swore they helped a lot of people.
I wish you luck, and relief.
Kathy
I don't know if you would have access to one or perhaps your son can find one on the internet but a water pipe will cool the smoke as you inhale it and it won't be so hard on your lungs...apparently it makes a big difference so if you really want to give maryjane a good try I would advise you to look into it. Let me know if you can't find one cause I am sure I could get one here and send it to you if necessary.

Did your husband make the brownies from scratch or a mix? Is he normally a good baker or could that be the root of your problem? :-)
I don't have a specific suggestion, but if I understand correctly heat of some sort has to be applied to marijuana for the active ingredients to work - hence you never hear of anyone just eating raw weed. It must be smoked (heat) or cooked (like in brownies - more heat) .
I would venture a guess that a search on google would turn up a cookbook online of other recipes.
Good luck,
Lulu
