missed meds = lousy sleep

I had the worst sleep last night than I've had in a long time! Tossing and turning, sleeping in 15 minute to half hour spurts, laying awake wishing I could fall asleep and stay asleep. In bed for 11 hrs, maybe got about 4 hrs sleep.

Got up this morning and noticed yesterdays daily meds container still had my evening pills in it. Darn, forgot to take my meds, which consists of 300mg Gabapentin, Detrol LA, and Pantoprazole.

I really think the missed meds is the culprit. I know when my TN annoys me a little more than usual I take an extra 300mg Gabapentin at bedtime and sleep like a log, so it stands to reason that if I take 300mg less G than my normal daily dose, I might have a crappy sleep.

I've also noticed in the past that when I forget my Rebif I sleep poorly, especially if I stretch the three day span to four days.

Anyone else notice lousy sleep after missing meds?

Mike

Oh man, I do, always.
I don't take much at all, and would take xanaflex @ night very randomly, only when needed, and then I had to go to nightly due to increase inspasms.
Now, when I skip a night - I'm awake but tired. It's the absolute pits how easily our bodies get use to these meds. Makes backing them down so hard. We need our rest, dagnappit!

That certainly may be the culprit.  I take some of those, and they put me to sleep.  If your body is used to having those meds at bedtime, it probably doesn't "remember" how to sleep without them.  It's crazy that the meds we have to take to manage this disease have so many undesirable side effects.

I hope you sleep better tonight.
