Hi Rena thanks for your message and your support. I am feeling very deflated as to this report I know i kept wondering if i have lesions how come he has not written about them in the report. i keep hoping it is not a typing error. and then i am in disbeleif i beleive the radioligist would have reread the report after it was typed out i dont know maybe i am wrong but i am trying not to get deflated before i see the neuroligist again.i cant beleive they would be so careless i am trying to have faith in our health care as i used to work in the field.
I am sooo sorry to hear you are going through this my dear! I have to agree with the others though in that I believe that someone made a typo somewhere along the line. I hope that you get some answers soon...I am in Alberta so can relate to the slow process we have to deal with. Wish I could offer more but without knowing if it was a typo or just the inability of the radiologist to properly read an MRI...time will tell and once your Neurologist gets to see the actual MRI he will give you the actual result.
Lots of Hugs,
Rena
I ditto what everyone has said..so really not a lot to add since everyone has pretty much summed it up.
It says that there is No MRI evidence of a white matter demyelinating disease.
And at the end impression he just made a typo....
Take Care,
~Tonya
HI STEPH I THINK THEY WOULD NOT ANSWER IT BECAUSE HERE IN CANADA THAT IS THE WAY IT WORKS TAKES AGES TO SEE A SPECIALIST, GET TESTS DONE, THEY DONT REALLY COMMUNICATE WITH THE PATIENT.I KNOW OF OTHERS WHO THE RADIOLIGIST COMMUNICAtes results right in the mri however i dont think it is that way where i live. oh well i will wait until my appt. with the neuro i guess. he did say i have ms but he said the beginning or benign ms.the neuro i mean.thanks for the message. i meant the radioligists communicate after the mri.
I'm sorry they wouldn't answer your question. It seems reasonable for a pt. to request an answer when the report is so clearly contradictory.
As far as what you have... I'm in the same boat. I've had "MS" sx for 8 years, my neuro thinks clinically it's a slam dunk, but my MRI is *perfect* with not a lesion in sight. Everything has been ruled out (including anxiety, somatoform disorder, etc.) but no one knows. I wish I could give you an answer, but you just need to be patient and proactive.
Good luck.
HI I CALLED TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE I HAD THE MRI THEY SAID I NEED TO HAVE MY DR. LOOK AT THE REPORT AND CALL THEM TO ASK THEY WOULD NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION OH WELL I TRIED. NOW I AM GETTING SCARED IF I DONOT HAVE MS THEN WHAT DO I HAVE I GUESS I NEED TO GET THE THORACIC MRI DONE AND THE CERVICAL SPINE.
That's what I thought, too--the radiologist must have left out the word "no." Call and ask them. They can clarify or amend the report.
Mary....It sounds like he just left out the word 'no' evidence of multiple sclerosis in his impression.
Did you have a surgical resection of the pituitary adenoma?
Best of Luck!
hi ladies yes i have the cd my next appt. is in july with my neuro.i will right the report i know iwas feeling it is vague as well.ecspecially when the neuro asked the lesions to be counted.i did not get a neck mri just the brain.i will write the report. findings sagittal t1Flair.axial protondensity,T2and flair and axial3D FSGPRsequences performed. No focal lesion identified in the periventricular white matter.in the corpus callosum, the cerebellum or the brainsrem. No MRI evidence of a white matter demyelinating disease. No abnormal enhancing lesion detected. It appears the patient has had a surgicalresection of the pituitary adenoma this is not a dedicated scan of the sella, but the size of the pit. gland appears within normal limits.the ventricular system and the cerebral sulci appear within normal limits for age.no focal mass effect, midline deviation,or extra axial collection seen. Impression mri evidence of multiple sclerosis.
I agree this is very vague. Do you have the actual films or CD? You need to sit down with your neuro and go over the MRIs together. When is your next appt?
ess
glad you got your reprt finally.
could you actually "POST" the "IMPRESSION" part of it?
As it helps w/ people to give their thoughts because it is pretty vague right now.
Did it say things like Lesions noted here? there? T-1...T-2?? Words like Increased foci?? Frontal Lobe?? corpus Collosum??
just helps with a bit more of what it catually says.....If you do not feel comfortable in posting it that is totally fine :)
