Here is a MedHelp Health Page that lists the usual suspects re: MS & Blood tests.

I'm not sure there is a single, defined MS Blood Panel. There are a whole lot of blood tests run during the dx process. There main purpose is to rule out other things that can mimic MS.

Glycominds Laboratory Services is a CLIA - certified laboratory operated in Simi Valley, California.
The lab offers a novel gMS® testing for the diagnosis and prognosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients.  Our gMS® tests use the first validated MS biomarkers to help physicians identify and provide appropriate and timely treatment for MS patients. Glycominds works with physicians to arrange for patient testing via a secure and convenient program in conjunction with phlebotomist services which arrange for patients to have their blood samples collected at a convenient time and place.

I think we all could search the net for yrs and come up with all kinds of companies claming things! Bottom line is you would think with all the new technology certain things would be very easy to diagnose!

I wish you the best in your journey so far so good for you from what I have read on your other post today?

ok i just figured this out its not one test but a battery of test. when you look up the billing code it goes to that place but when i research it further it looks more like a test of both spinal fluid and blood

Interesting stuff. They are talking about a "rule In" blood test. It looks like it's still in its infancy. They advise that it currently should be used to support MRI Findings and after everything has been ruled out.

I think the world would very much welcome a simple, single blood test to dx MS.

gMS®Dx is a biomarker test. gMS® is a proprietary Glycominds Laboratory Services product.

I have never heard of a single biomarker for MS. There is a blood test run in conjunction with a spinal tap to see if your IgG levels in your blood match the levels in your spinal fluid, both of which are supposed to be done at the same time as your spinal tap.

As for MS blood tests, as Kyle said< there are many MS mimics and blood tests can rule out a  good many of them. As a former nurse and MS patient I have never heard of a "MS panel".

If such a test did exist then there wouldn't be so much trouble diagnosing people with MS.  I would ask my doctor why/if he ordered this and be concerned if your insurance pays for it.

Let us know what your doctor says.

Thanks,
Ren
