ms hug?

I have not been officially diagnosed with ms but I'm wondering if what I experienced last night was an "ms hug". I have been having rib pain for the past few weeks along with extreme back pain and pain in my shoulder blade. Last night though I was laying down when my usual rib pressure and pain started to escalate into something much more. It went to extreme stomach cramps and really intense chest pain. I would then get stabbing pain in my right shoulder blade and my spine. My breasts even felt as if they were being squeezed to death. The only thing i could do was curl in a ball and try to breath. This lasted about an hour where it was unbearable and then started to dissipate. Does this sound like it could be an ms hug or something else? Any tips to help would also be great!

I think this possibly could have been a ms hug and that pain causing the other symptoms from the stress and pain of it.

My body had a major flare and part of that flare was numbness in my torso... My neuro stated it could be a ms hug... It was not painful. (I thought it was funny) After steroids and when I was crashing and in bed I had what I think is a truly painful ms hug ... It was a few hours of extreme pain through my rib cage. It went away and left a couple days of painful jabs in the same spot if I moved the wrong way. (I then believed the neuro)
At this time my bowel was on full force killer zone too!!! So I had major pains there too!!

Hope that helps! Definitely contact your doc!!

Hi there,

I'm not sure how "My breasts even felt as if they were being squeezed to death. " is even possible, oh unless it was maybe your pectoral muscles and not actually your breasts. From my perspective, it doesn't really sound to me to be the same as the MS hug, because you seem to have too many different areas (rib pressure, rib pain, chest pain, breast/prectoria squeeze, shoulder blade pain, back/spine pain and stomach cramp) happening for the MS hug to be the more likely cause, over any other thing it could be.

I think you need to see your dr and get it checked out.

Cheers...........JJ
