my new family Dr.

I have a new gp and she is suppose to be knowledgable about ms and has some MS patients.  But she really does not know that much, she blames a lot of my symptoms on my age, which is almost 65.  Its really a bit of an insult to think i am that stupid and would actually buy that.

Thank God I have an MS specialist at UCSF or I woukd be very concerned.  I still am a bit since I hve to see her and share everything with her just to keep her in the loop.

She is really against drugs of any kind and says she will get me off provigil soon...I dont think so !  I can always turn that over to my MS Dr for control so I am not worried.

That was just a a small rant..i just find it interesting.

hugs, meg

Meg,
I hope you are right that she won't be a problem - I would not want someone on my team who has a different idea from my treatment than what I want. Saying she is going to get you off all drugs is not realistic and she needs to understand that.  Perhaps your neuro could do a consult with her about your plan of treatment?

You girls aren't old - just experienced.

Hey there, Meg. I think you need to get rid of the GP as soon as you can. Find another one and get established with him or her. Then, when you're sick or not up to par, that will be your resource, a positive one. Your present GP is meddling where she shouldn't go. She doesn't know much at all about MS. I know you have your neuro to override her, but why have any doctor who's basically an adversary? There are plenty of good docs out there.

Hugs back,
Ess (By the way, you're NOT old. Wink, wink)
