pondering weird new symptom?

The trees are budding and my allergies are raging. My mind is pondering a new symptom it seems. I was wondering if it's just my body being weird or what. I tried searching MedHelp and you can get some really, ummm, interesting? posts if you search for tongue tremor, twitching or numbness. LOL  Googling came up with MS and MS mimics. so I thought I'd ponder out loud here and see if anyone else has had this.

Yesterday as I was driving, I got this strange quiver, zapping feeling in the right side of my tongue.  not the whole right half just about the med section but only on the right half. it felt like that candy, pop rocks ( i think I recall its name ) exploding on that part of my tongue. it only lasted maybe a min, Then my tongue in that area had like  muscle twitching.  like i get other places at time. that lasted off and on the rest of the night.

really strange feeling and annoying but not alarming at all. woke up this morning and all day the right side of my tongue has that heavy feeling and like it is numb. it isn't totally numb but doesn't want to move right and feels heavy. Like my legs feel at times. It has made it harder to talk because I have to work at enunciating words with half my tongue not working properly. not a big problem as I'm not much of a talker. writing, email and texting yes, talking no so much.  yet, I do have to talk at work so I hope this goes away or gets better soon.

I've had right side of my head and face feel heavy and numb. as if I have a iron half mask on and even to my right ear. I've had the bug crawling feeling and sunburn feeling, that goes away in a few days to a week. some minor sharp stabing pains on right side of face but thankfully it doesn't last any time. so hopefully this will go away in the next day or two. unlike my legs that just seem to get worse.

I'm I just strange? ( ok I know I am. that is beside the point :-)  )  or do you know what I'm saying? it has also made eating a bit trickier too.

My first thought was a reaction to a new drug.  Are you on anything new?

Join the club! :-)) Blame it ALL on the MS or whatever you want. We ARE the sane ones, the ones who find this piece of golden treasure among the riff-raff of the WWW.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Raz,

Sorry to hear of your symptoms. They sound aggravating at the very least. You do need to be careful of any progression of this numbness so that it doesn't interfere with swallowing and breathing. If this happens, call 911 and get some help pronto.

If you'd like a safer site to surf ( or maybe you don't ;-0), you can search just this "MS Community". there is a little green bar tucked neatly away just on top of the "Recent Activity" bar on the right side of the page. It only searches past responses. May not be as much fun but at least it's real information.

Shell, I did a scan and it found a virus!  ha, not really but it was such an easy line I couldn't resist.

I did considered a reaction, but not taking anything that I haven't for years.  the jaw numbness isn't anything new either. just never had my tongue go numb or feel heavy before.

Its not anything I'd bother a doctor about. no more then the face jaw numbness. I did the first time and was told that was normal for people with MS. It always goes away. Maybe the allergies are just aggravating it. I do know its not sinus because that feeling is always like my nose is broken. like getting hit between the eyes with a ball bat.

hey maybe i'll lose some pounds because i can't eat right.  :-) nothing like walking like a drunk and now talking like I'm drunk. it was never a problem years ago, when I use to drink.  ha. Irony is I'm headed to a 12 step workshop.

Have a good day Shell

Raz,

Hi Raz. Don't think your strange, but sure you had to weed through lots of strange net findings, lol You'd best run a scan on your computer to clean it, hahah kidding of course.

Seriously though, do keep an eye on it. Wouldn't be good if you were having a reaction to something - only mentioning this because your allergies are raging, etc.

Def. jot this down and if you head and face and tongue continue to feel this way (especially heavy and numb ), and can you get into the doc for a look?

Hoping it goes away for you! Be careful.
