Where Have All the Flowers Gone?

As you know we periodically update you on the whereabouts of your rusty, trusty Community Leaders, Laura, Shell, Ren and me.

Laura has been holding down the fort here and I salute her strength and stamina.  OUR HEROINE!

Shell had an epic flood in her house, and I DID NOT CAUSE IT!  However, she is exhausted from cleanup and holiday preparations, and her computer is under water.  Any mice found after the cleanup were there before the flood and not connected to my incontinence!

Ren is fighting increased facial pain and looking forward to her next treatments.  Be patient with her.

I am knitting madly on a few gifts and my progress has been delayed by the Minion Saboteur who lives at my waist.  He left my belly button loose, and when I stood up yesterday morning my legs fell off.  This has made it hard to catch up with myself as you may imagine.  I have sinced gotten them reattached, but now have the right leg on backwards.  This lessens the ankle pain, but I can only walk around in circles.

Harpy Holidays and Seasoned Greetings

Hi Quix,

Good luck to your dad with his appt. I hope it is nothing.
My brother, who is a year older than me, has a non-calcified nodule in his lung. And he continues to cough up blood. But according to his doctors, they can't really biopsy it because of its location. He does have very enlarged lymph nodes in his chest and neck, plus drenching night sweats. His chest ct scan was about 6 or so months ago and his doctor for some reason doesn't seem too worried about any of it.
I think they're wrong, but my brother seems to want to bury his head and ignore it all.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Quix - that's always a worry.  And why does this stuff always happen during the holidays?

Is it rendean that gets the treatments for lidocaine for her TN?

Thanks to you all!

We had a very serene Christmas and shared it with a friend who was left alone - and depressed - for the holidays.  It was nice.

We did have a pall over the weekend, though.  My daddy has had horrific pain in his ribs which acted like something called costochondiritis (inflammation in the cartilage) but it has been getting worse and worse.  The pain and the pain meds have been making him agitated and more fuzzy-headed than usual.

We saw a couple docs just before the holidays and they set up an MRI of the thoracic bony spine.  But then we got a call that there was a nodular shadow on his chest x-ray and have set up a chest CT for Thursday.  The worse, of course, is cancer with metastases to the ribs.  I take him to all the medical appointments so I can interpret and get all that is said passed on to my mother.

So, that is a worry.  He is 86 and smoked a pipe and cigars for a long time, but quit about 15 years ago.

My TN on the right has been getting slowly worse, and today I woke up with a new cold sore (Herpes I) on the right.  Like a good, obedient forum member I went to the doc and got a prescription for an antiviral to try to cut it short.  But, I am having my usual fever and chills, headache and myalgia with the first day of the cold sore and my face really hurts.

I'm thinking about you.

love, Quix

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Our forum is the absolute best! And, no offense Suma, we don't seem to keep our men for long, hahah Only the strongest survive! ahah I'm kidding of course.

My computer was spared, as was many things, but man on man did we have some damage control to put into place before the service came out. All is well, and things can always be worse so I'm counting my many blessings.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Seasons Greetings to all of you.

We'll all pull in the New Year together like we always do, together!

(((Hugs))))

I am sorry I brought the issue up.  I am NOT saying that the current moderators don't meet the standards or that they are not kind, supportive and positive people.

Gee, to have a delete button.

I knew there was a reason I liked you!  I've always been fond of instigators and button pushers...

Personally I feel like CLs should be supportive, kind, and positive people - and we have that in abundance right now.  Take care, you guys, and have a merry Christmas!

lol, Bob, not trying to make it into a big issue.  I don't have an "issue" either with all female moderators.  Just saying it would round us out a bit.

Women get short shrift all too often.  There are other men on this forum and we are what, one-third of the folks afflicted with MS?  I personally have no problem with female moderators.  It is about time men have to take the initiative to speak up.

I'm not shy and when I think things are moving slow, I have a tendency to try and bring up a topic.  My grandfather would call me an instigator, but that's OK.  I don't need a flower to do that.

Thanks for the update on the whereabouts of our community leaders.
I'm sure glad I found this forum.  There's always something going on here in our virtual community.  I have found this place to be somewhere to find a listening ear and someone who understands.
Thank you to everyone who shares on here.

Happy Holidays Everyone,
Kelly

Well, if not Bob then another male next go round.   A male moderate would round things out.  I wonder how we as women would feel had we arrived at a board with all male moderators?  Just my two cents.

No flower for me.  I pop in and out of here sporadically   Bob is a busy pup.  Off to Atlanta the second full week of the New Year.

If you want to know where, think of bears sliding down hills and "Have a ____ and a smile."  New year, so time to go see my clients. This weekend is Christmas in the SF Bay area with my partner and his family.  I think my life was made into a Simon Pegg movie: "Run Fat Boy, Run."

Every one have Happy Holidays.

Sumana,
We are indeed fortunate to have Bob and a bunch of other folks with expertise in areas that relate to MS.  We are also an unusual forum for MH - most all the others only have 2 CL's.  This one also started with 2, and then added a 3rd and then they reluctantly allowed us to add a 4th, because of the large volume of people we have here.   In our view of this community, everyone is a CL.  -Lulu

So glad you are back.  I joined when you were off tending to some minions- but I have been reading enough posts, researching etc - to know how valuable you are here  and how much you have been missed.

Thanks to all the community leaders, and everyone who helps make this process of - "what the he.. is going on with me" a bit easier.  You are all the best.

Enjoy the holidays and happy knitting.

When I first came to the board, it was Lulu that had a warm welcome for me.  I don't think she has missed welcoming any new people and makes us all feel at home.  Thank you, Lulu.

I knew all about Quix from reading her entries for about a year...before being diagnosed and joining the board.  Does she have any idea of how much she calmed my fears over that period of time?  I doubt it but again, thank you Quix.

I think it is about time this board had a male moderator.  I nominate Cobob.  He has endless patience for our questions and carries a great deal of knowledge.

To all of you, all the posters and other moderators, there is no doubt this is the best board for MSers because of you.  We are a lucky crew!!!!

I have had alot of help on here and I am sure you are aware that the man without a purple flower ( COBOB ) has really been "The Great Shoulder To Cry On"

I hope everyone is getting along well!!

I'm working at fortifying the fort and guarding against invaders, but all success should be credited to our wonderful community members here - the experts (all with various backgrounds!) have certainly stepped up lately and been doing the watchman work.  This really is a great place to be, thanks to all of you!

Lulu,
because this is one Lulu of a disease!
