When you can, please think about this and let me know.We have chatted before several times. I don't know where to go. So far I have been diagnosed with Fibro by a neurologist. I have type 2 diabetes. Degenerative Osteoarthritis, osteopenia. Over a year ago partial tear in my achilles tendon.C5-6 disectomy and fusion Right shoulder acromioplasty, miscroscopic nissan fundiplacation. Hysterectomy, Appendectomy. Right & left carpal tunnel syndrome. Multiple EMG's NCS, etc. etc. etc. Rapid heart rate,, slight enlargment of right ventricale. Seeing Cardiologist on Oct 11. My question, (yes, I'm finally getting to it) is this. What type doctor should I be seeing? I have severe muscle pain at base of my skull, neck pain, shoulder pain, muscle pain all over my bodyeven to touch my upper chest or clavicle area causes 6-7 pain level. Now my left arm feels like a blood pressure cuff is inflated on it all the time, and my fingers go numb. Siatic in lower back, bulging disc's at T-8 and L4-5. The muscles in my legs feel hard to the touch all the time. I have a cyst on the left achilles tendon that causes pain to walk, it never healed right. By end of night my legs and feet get pins and needles and feel like there are burning.  Yet from shins down feel cold to the touch. Headaches most of the time. (Getting eyes checked on Monday. I have never had a brain MRI, and feel I'm too old to have MS, unless it has been missed for years. Most of my worse symptoms started about 10 years ago.At several points I've either had fibro "fog" or symptoms from high blood sugar causing fuzzy brain. I really have trouble remembering names, etc. Fortunately I do a repetetive driving route that I've done for 10 years, so don't get lost. I do forget simple things at times. I am seeing a naturopathic physician who rerscribes my meds for me, and refers me to whichever specialist I seem to need. One thing I have found strange, the first time he ever listened to my heart was 3 weeks ago. I've been going to him for approx 8-9 years! My blood pressure is usually 106/64. Do you know which type of physician I should be seeing to handle my complex diagnoses?I'm just at such a loss, am in so much pain most of the time, I have to force myself to go to work each day. I have no energy, and since my husband died have slowly becme increasing isolated.(Yes, I take anti-depressants) Just one day I would like to not hurt. Do you think they could have missed diagnosing MS?  I used to be very active, and loved being around people, now I could care less, except for my son, when I get to see him on the weekend. But we very seldom go anywhere because I'm too tired. Sorry to be rambling. Any thoughts or ideas you have would be greatly appreciated. But take care of the others here who need you first. Thank you so much and God Bless. And licks from the Tazmanian Devil Dog."Tazz" (3 1/2lb chihuahua)

Thanks for the kittie Hickies. I love kitties. I would like sometime to have a Maine Coon Cat, a really big one! I am 60 years old ( and feel 160!). I live in a little tiny Eastern Oregon town. I will try to find out where a Pain Management Clinc , probably close to 300 miles away. I have thought about switching PCP. My only plus for the one I have is he will prescribe vicodene 90 at a time. Have been doing that for several years now.  I try not to abuse it. But when I get home from work I need it! On weekends, and some nights I go without, so I know that I am not addicted.I will do some research. Thank for so much for your time and expertise. All of your friends here rely on you so much. You are a blessing to us all. Maggie

Of course I know you, silly rabbit!  And you're not rambling.  But you are truly suffering.  The isolation will get to you so do what you can to have someone come in and visit or to take little visits.  But, just how old are you?  MS has been confirmed at age 2 and up to the early 70's.  And we have a member here diagnosed in her 60's.

With everything going on you do need an MRI of your brain.  Ask for one.  Who would be best to oversee your problems?  First you need a really good Internist.  But there are two evaluations that I would recommend to you.  The first is by a Pain Management Clinic.  Just because you have a lot going on to cause pain, doesn't mean you must suffer.  You should try to get into a large clinic and see what relief they can offer.  I mean this seriously.  There is very little quality of life when there is nothing but pain.

I think a neuropsycholgical evaluation would be a very good thing to try to pinpoint where your cognitive problems are.  The fatigue and the depression (to me they often feel one and the same) really need to be addressed.  Perhaps a little twinking of the antidepressant could also help with the pain.

Interesting a physcian that doesn't really examine you.  Possibly time to change to someone who will actually touch you and do an exam?

I care about you and read all your posts.  I'll call your Tazz Lick and raise you three Kitty Hickies.
