I am very sorry I missed your original post, but I wanted to tell you that you are in my thoughts and prayers.  I too, was very close to my daddy, who passed away from heart disease in April 2003.

I know what you are going through and my heart goes out to you.  Always remember the good times and special memories that you and your daddy shared, it does help.

Praying for your pain of loss to ease and the happy memories to come to the forefront.

God Bless You,
doni

I can so much identify with what you are feeling right now.  I just recently lost my daddy In January of this year..  He was 86 years old.  I lost my best friend in this whole world.  I know that pain that your heart feels.

You did all you could trying to find answers for your father.  He knows how much you tried to do.  I am sure of it.  If he had to suffer, I am glad that he went fairly quickly.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  I really am so sorry.  Cyber Hugs and much Love,

Heather

Dear all,

I'm sorry for not posting for some time now, as you probably imagine, things got worse with my dad more and more tests were carried out and still no diagnosis. He got weaker and weaker and hope was slowly slipping away as he was.

He finally had a biopsy on his spine to take samples of some tiny lesions that showed on one of the scans, the results of the biopsy was Diffuse B-Type Lymphoma.

He passed away on July 22nd 2008.

It turnsout that the Lymphoma was in his brain - in the Pineal Gland and had rapidly spread through his Central Nervous System.

It was too late to treat by the time the diagnosed him.

We are devastated that he was stolen away from us at just 66 but are grateful that he was in no pain at all, and he passed peacefully away in our arms having spent the last 3 months at his bedside all day everyday.

I am comforted that he is now at rest and would like to thank everyone on this forum for your overwhelming support and kindness during the difficult months before his death.

George Blum, 1941-2008, my daddy who I loved dearly - may you rest in peace.

Kind regards,

Gina

Honey, I'm so sorry for you and your Daddy.  I loved my Daddy more than anything in this world and I saw him waste away also.  I know he is very thankful to have you there for him.  I will certainly add your family to my prayer chain.

I'll be praying,

Hello to you both and thank you for your words of comfort.

My dad is having a bone scan and lumar puncture today. They have not indicated what they suspect but the neurologist consultant has told my mum that they are expecting the worst. I have no idea what this means but can only wait to hear what the results of the tests come back with.

Thank you again for your support, I am so glad I found this forum - I don't think I can do this alone :(

Adding on my thoughts and prayers for you and your Dad.  May you find a Doctor who has all the education and experience to put this all together so he can be treated and made well.

Sending strength your way,
SL

I hope you don't mind, but I have added you and your daddy to my prayers.  I just lost my beloved daddy in January and girlfriend, in MY life and obviously in yours, there is nothing more precious to us, than our daddies.

Your story has really touched my heart and will continue to.  Would you please private message me when you get more info about your daddy and what is wrong?  I would like to follow up with you.  Please know that I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Best Wishes you great daughter you....Your daddy no doubt knows what a treasure he has for a daughter.  I understand your love and your concern for one of the most important men in your life.  I really DO understand.

Hi Heather, Hi Faith,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post. I feel relieved that his symptoms do not seem to relate to MS, at this stage I am looking for any break that may give me a clue in the right direction.

I hope that the spinal MRI will give some indication to the doctors.

In answer to your questions Faith, no he hasn't travelled but he did have an influenza vaccine some months ago prior to the start of his symptoms.

He seems to think that this was when it all started, of course this could be completely unrelated.

It is so hard to distinguish when it all started.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, if anyone has any further input this would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Gina

I agree  with HEather that this doesnot sound lllike m.s.
I am glad you have posted here, there maybe someone can help.

I 'm sure he has had an extensive work-upp. I did read you r post , i am no doctor,  butit does seem obvious there is underlying illness, not from immobility and mal nutrition.

HAd he been traveling anywhere?
I hope his doctors have looke dat bacterial or viral causes.

I am very sorry to hear about your father.  After reading the link you sent, it doesn't sound like anyone on the Multiple Sclerosis Forum could give you any advice about your father's undiagnosed condition.

We are all very sorry that you and of course, your daddy are going through something like this.  You have all of our very best wishes, that the doctor's find out what is causing your daddy's problems.

Our thoughts and well wishes are with you and your family,

Heather
