Kellost,
Hi Kel,
Belated welcome to you. Ren gave you the best advice. To answer your question about LDN and interferon, No. LDN is not. It's not a disease modifying drug for MS at all.
I'm on Rebif too - so please feel free to ask anything. I hope you do get back what you lost - it's very possible. And, even when you get back a little, it feels great and lifts your spirits.
HOw are you doing otherwise?
Thanks for joining us!

Thank u so much! is this an interfuron? I'm very curious! I need to go look it up.
Have you ever heard of LDN? A lot of MS people swear by it, it has little to no side effects and only costs about $40 a month without insurance.
thank u very much!!! U give me hope. LOL. I do have flare ups right now. Hopefully medicaid will get my rebiff asap. Stupid 3 scripts a month rule. I will start it for sure, at the beg. of July.
Hi kel,
Rebif is a DMD which means it is a disease modifying drug aimed at stopping further MS flares and further brain and neurological damage. DMDs do not erase the symptoms that your body has collected due to MS.
On a brighter note, your brain has the capacity to repair itself due to a phenomenon known as neuroplasticity. Your brain can make new pathways that return some of the lost skills. I also have balance issues and through PT, my brain learned to work around some of the issues and helped return my balance.
I also have cognitive issues due to MS. I find that once I am out of a flare this improves also. The DMDs are capable of stopping further flares. This leaves the possibility of you regaining some of the cognition skills you have lost.
I cannot give you a time frame for this repair work or promise it will occur but I sincerely hope that it does. It will not happen overnight. In the meantime, you can develop other ways to work around the deficits.
If you enter cognition issues in the green bar found at the top of the right side bar named "Search this Community" you can find other threads dealing with these issues.
With best wishes,
Ren
