To all my forum friends, I just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Easter, and I hope that the Rabbit brings you lots of chocolates - and toffees'!! :)))

My plans for tomorrow are to contiue with the building of our new Cottage for guests. In the evening we will have a special dinner, just he 3 of us ,and you would not believe what my Son Eteinne wants - no, not lots of eggs - he wants a replica Colt 45 :))  He's sure is taking after his Father, who has a passion of WW2. - go figure that one out :)))

Clint Eastwood here we come:)  We even wrote a letter to the Rabbit asking for one!!

Let us not forget our frieinds who are unable to post, but to keep them in our thoughts tomorrow!

I know the forum is quiet on the weekends, but if you have the time lets hear your plans?

Footprints in the sand,

Hugs and love,

Happy Easter!

I told my daughter and SIL I wasn't doing Easter here because my house and yard look like a bomb hit them, and there was no way I could put together dinner or and egg hunt for our grandson.  It's stormy, and we live at the end of a very messy dirt road that's nearly impassible right now.  They totally understand what's going on and they went into town to friends' for brunch/egg hunt.

So I did some house cleaning, and my DH will finish tomorrow.  I had marinated a portion of a butterflied leg of lamb.  I'll serve that with a spinach salad with strawberries and pecans in a sweet balsamic vinaigrette, and some roasted potatoes and call it a night.  We may have a wee brandy for dessert.

Happy Spring,

Now you really sound like the infamous Rabbit, eating carrots:))))

Never been a fan of Merlot, but you have to have one glass of wine:)))

Untraditional Easter for us; usually I make a big turkey dinner but as I'm working hard to limit my calories these days I decided against it, it's just too tempting.  So then we ge invited over to friends' place tonight for BBQ'ed burgers.  Uh oh.  I will need to stuff myself with carrot sticks before we leave so I don't overdo it.  Also need to do an hour on the treadmill this afternoon, to make me feel less guilty about the merlot I surely will be drinking later. :)

It will be the usual family gathering  of about 30 or so - fortunately at one of my sister's home and not mine.  I don't have the energy to do this at my house.

The usual dinner fare for Easter - ham green beans, salads, lots of desserts.  I made the pickled eggs and red beets - and have the ham to warm.  I always end up hauling a bunch of food which involves multiple trips to the car.

There won't be any toffee but I did make a killer batch of salted dark caramels and dipped them in chocolate.  I have to say they are excellent.

While I'm doing that hauling, DH will be getting his 93 y/o mom from the nursing home - keep your fingers crossed that this visit goes ok. She will need to be in a wheelchair and hopefully between all of us we can muscle her in and out of the house.

There will be an egg hunt for the little ones.  I still need to stuff some treats into those plastic eggs.

May everyone who celebrates Easter carry the joy in your heart tomorrow and into the future.

my best,
L

Hello, and Happy Easter to you, too!

Fluffy is my Easter Bunny this year.  I'm having tummy trouble, so no chocolate or toffees for me.  :o(

Tomorrow I'll be going to my best friend's mother's house.  Her daughter and two grandson's are visiting from California, so there will be four generations in the house.
I won't be able to eat much, but the company and warm celebration will be wonderful.

Hugs,

Kathy
