Abnormal EEG report with polyspike discharges

Hello,

Abnormal EEG since first day of life lip smacking, apnea, bradycardia, turning blue. Diagnosed with epilepsy many EEG's abnormal since birth now 15 years old. Was weaned off seizure meds at the beginning of new VEEG.

Report reads:

At the beginning of the twelve day recording period there were no epileptiform discharges present. Approximately three days into the recording period there appeared rare bursts of diffuse high amplitude 3-4 hertz delta activity with imbedded frontal spikes. Over the subsequent days the bursts appeared slightly more frequently. Rarely there was a polyspike appearance to the discharges. Abnormal EEG secondary to the presence of rare generalized bursts of spike and wave discharges that increased slightly in frequency over the recording period.

Can anybody tell me what this means? What does the polyspike mean? Is this related to the epilepsy?
I have heard of spike wave, sharp wave and slow waves from the previous EEG's done but not polyspike.

Been having problems with hand tremors. And rapid eye movements (back & forth) comes and goes through out the day what could this be from?

Thank you any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Friend,
Many thanks for posting.
Also i can't comment on your EEG reports as i have not seen the spike pattern myself, neither i have examined you.So co-relating the things is not possible at this level
The consulting neurologist can only help you on that.

In general "polyspike" is seen due to sudden burst of electrical activities inside the brain, resulting into a seizure/epilepsy.
Also rapid eye movements can be a sign of seizure manifestation.
Hence an expert's intervention is a must.

Regards..
