emg/right treatment

December 22, 2009, I was rearended.. Initial dx cervical whiplash, prescribed med..pain still persist.. hd mri  mild cervical spine spondlosis with left paracentral disc protrusion at c-5-6.. Main symptoms to date radiating pain in shoulder into elbow. Had an EMG done 30 June 2010.. Findings: Consistent with mild axonopathy of the left lower c4-c-5 cervical nerve roots. THe electrical findings in any left upper extremity muscles makes it impossible to isolate radiculopathy to one specific level.. I have had 18 pt visits (traction now up to 32 lbs.. does provide relief temporary,(24hr) also take mobic.. recently prescribed a home traction unit.. confused as if this is right treatment.. Help Thanks

Dear Friend,
Even i have got confused, after reading about your treatment.
A "Philadelphia Collar" for few weeks with near normal life style would had been perfect. I would suggest you to consult another Spine Specialist (Orthopaedician or Neurologist), who would be able to give you a valuable second opinion.
But do continue with the medicines (Mobic, etc).
For whiplash, we prefer the above mentioned collar only.
Hence please get a second opinion for further course of action...
Feel free to discuss, if you need any guidance also.
Regards
