I keep having sharp random pains in one location on my head?

For 3-4 months now i have been having random sharp pains occur behind my right ear on the back of my head. This has also been followed by head pressure and normal throbbing headaches. Some weeks these symtoms only occur a handful of times and others it is a daily occurrence. When these sharp pains occur they last for about 5-20 seconds and can be pretty shocking making me drop what im doing at the time. Usually laying down in bed will make it better I've noticed. Just to throw this out there I've had chronic upper back pain since last fall.  I know it's probably nothing bad just wondering if i should be worried about It because the sharp pains are only occurin on one side of my head. Thanks in advonce.
