3 level disc replacement c-4 to c-7

next week i am scheduled for a 3 level cervical disc replacement from the c-4 to the c-7.   my c-4 is ruptured and indenting on the spinal cord, c5- to c-7 have extensive bulging and spurring. my right is numb and have alot of tightness on the upper arm and my neck is very painful. just got my second opinion 3 weeks from a local neurosurgeon with a good reputation. my first spine ortho stated he only wanted to fuse the c4-5 only.  is there anybody out there that has had a recent 3 level cervical with any success. the neuro states i have a 75% success rate of the pain and numbness going away with the surgery.  i am trying to get pumped up for this surgery but i need some encouragement on 3 levels done at one surgery.  any info would be appreciated.

had the  3 level cervical surgery fusion done a few days ago, very successfull. i have minimal pain and the numbness/shocking down right had stopped,  the only scary thing is  i coded blue in front of my wife 20 minutes after arriving in my room from the recovery room.  i do not remember a thing and woke up in icu.  my wife rushed to get nurses and the code team saved my life.  they stil have not figured out what happen to me, but i am home now and feeling pretty darn good after the 3 level fusion. could not my happier with my neuro and the hospital at florida memorial in daytona beach fl.

I wasn't aware they were doing multi-level ADR's here yet, are you having this done overseas? That's quite a leap from a single level fusion to a 3 level ADR, did you get an explaination as to why the Doctors had such different recommendations?

Sorry, they weren't doing ADR's when I had my neck done, so I can't be much help to you with regard to the recovery.  But I do wish you best of luck, and I hope everything goes well.
