Attention: head pressure, pressure in head, headache people!

Hello everyone, after suffering for nearly 2 years with a mysterious neurological-like condition, I have almost given up all hope of living a normal life again. After a whole lot of research on the net, I have run into several postings with people describing my condition almost down to the exact letter. However, many of these posts are on some obscure website with the postings being months or years old. The purpose of my post here is to *hopefully* unite those of us who suffer from this unexplained condition.

The one symptom that seems to bond us all together is a constant "pressure" sensation behind the forehead and beneath the front top of the head. The way people describe this varies according to personal expression, but it is usually best described as an expanding sensation behind the forehead as if the brain is growing larger with nowhere to go. The headache is dull, non-throbbing, and does not get worse with exercise. The patient will also describe a sort of "perpetual dizziness" that may be constant or may come and go again. Usually, but not allways the patient will describe the sensation of having a constantly blocked nose even in the absence of any type of discharge or sinus infection. Most but not all patients will describe a feeling of tension or stiffness in the cranial muscles, especially in the forehead.

I urge you to google "cervicogenic dizziness" right away.  I have this vestibular/neurological condition but it took three years to be properly diagnosed.  My neurologist didn't even mention this as a possibility.  A Doctor of Osteopathy, or D.O., who does OMT (Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment) can help you greatly even if you don't have this exact disorder.  Think outside of mainstream medicine because manual treatments are the best fort his type of problem.  And, don't let anyone tell you it's "all in your head".  It is but it's only physical.  Good luck!

I really wish everyone here would go gluten free for one week and see if symptoms subside. I read most of these posts and feel terrible for you all. I am no expert but am knowledgeable regarding the devastating affects of consuming gluten. Please do yourselves a big favor and read about gluten sensitivity. This is a topic associated with celiac disease. Bottom line is that gluten products attack your nervous system and the earlier you avoid gluten the less damage it inflicts. Please, you must avoid gluten for a week or even a few days and you shall feel the difference. Doctors do not talk about gluten. They pretty much are there to treat your symptoms. I have read much about gluten problems and you guys really fit the criteria for being gluten sensitive. Forget the tests for gluten sensitivity, they are not very accurate at all, unless you are on your death bed of course. Why wait for a doctor to tell you that gluten is the main cause for your declining heath? No need, screw them. Take some initiative and do research on gluten sensitivity and avoid gluten products for few days or even a week and see how your symptoms are improving. It is a work in progress. I have been avoiding gluten for year and half and feel sooooo much better and wish I could tell everyone to avoid gluten. PLEASE do it!!! Love ya all :)

I think this is nerves.  I get really tight muscles in my back and I have actually felt the pain really bad, massaged myself, and felt again, and the pain would be significantly decreased.  With some stretching/exercise I could completely relieve the pain.

I even had the dizzy disorientated feeling, but I mainly felt it as a "feeling" around me, but only felt the dizziness as I turned my head (possibly causing some really strange nerve stuff in my back...).   Anyways, some of you guys might be lucky and have just tight muscles or spine alignment issues which can be fixed with good posture/exercise/diet, but others may have a degenterative disorder, in which case you should consult a physical therapist and/or surgeon about your options to improve your situation.

Another reason I think it's nerves is what kind of bruise/pain feels GOOD when massaging it?  I know this isn't scientific in the least, but I've hit my head before and it DOES NOT feel good to touch it, ever.

Determine what kind of pain your having and if you have the same symtops even without the same causes, I'd consider it very likely it's nerves (nerves can be damaged in many many different ways).   Otherwise keep searching.
