Behind the eye pain -- migraines??

i have a question about migraines.  i was wondering, if they can present as quick, sharp pains (like little popping pains) behind one or both eyes... but not stabbing pain of the entire head?  inderal usually takes this pain away... but it scares me still because i have been having terrible nightmares--- i am worried about a tumor or something.

i take vioxx once a day, inderal (if i need it), klonopin, lithium, and ovcon 50.

don't know if any of these drugs would cause popping pains behind the eye or not--- i am 29...

There is an entity called ice pick headaches which are as you describe very quick stabbing sharp pains that last only a few moments in a small region of the head. No serious underlying disease behind it, just a type of headache. Of the meds you;re taking, the ovcon can definitely cause headaches, especially in patients with pre-existing migraines. FOr reassurance that nothing else is going on, consider seeing a neurologist for a complete examination and possibly an MRI depending on the results. Good luck
