Brain Aneurysm

Hi, When you have had a brain aneurysm removed and 10 years later the shunt fell of in my head the dr says it's not serious. But for the last 6 days my memory has been really bad. A friend came up and i was telling him all about my motorcycle then he went to check on the kids and i retold the story and i don't remember saying it the first time at all.. I knew short term memory would happen, but this was much worse than that. I asked the family and friends if i have been doing that with them they said they've noticed moreso the past week i have. Please help I am very much afraid. I don't know if it's because the shunt fell off or what the reason is...

Thank you very much for your question; although it is quite difficult for me to give you a precise diagnosis here without being able to examine you and seeing your previous brain aneurysm surgery details, though I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

You need a proper assessment and investigation here since there can be many causes for memory loss & concentration impairment and could be linked with previous brain surgery. Most common causes of short term memory and concentration impairment are excessive stress, psychological reason, recent head injury, certain medications, hormonal imbalance and Alzheimer’s disease (if you are in old age). I would recommend you to see a neurologist who can evaluate the details of your case and could better determine the insight of your situation. In the meantime, try to do some meditation exercises (eg. breathing exercises), have a balanced diet and avoid stress. Hope this helps. Take Care & Regards.

Hi Brian,
I have sm aneurysms in my brain.
I can tell when they happen.
One of the first things I notice is repeating myself and
family getting frustrated w me.
I also feel pressure in my brain.
I can also tell a difference in my eye sight.
I would get a second opinion.
This is our brain we are talking about....
I've had this problem for the past 7 mo.
I am still testing for reason and to determine treatment.
I would truly get a second opinion asap!
I am not a doc.
Have you had recent MRIs?
I do know I wouldn't be satisfied with the answer your doc gave you!
Good Luck friend!!
Keep me posted would you?
Hugs,
NiCee
