headaches, sensation of warmth without fever, brief bout of vertigo

4 days ago I started getting strange headaches.  On Monday, 4-5 times throughout the day I was getting a few seconds of intense pain behind my left eye and that night I had vertigo for about 5-10 seconds.  On tuesday I got the intense pain 3-4 times and my temperature wasn't behaving.  I was sure I had a fever because in the 78 degree weather I drove home with the heat on in my car.  Since then I've had a general headache (the eye thing has happened a few times, but not as intense and suddenly) and sensation of warmth.  I feel like I have a fever, someone will feel my head and agree, then I take my temperative and there is no fever.  the headache is now a general pressure/tension type headache originating behind my eye and extending to the top of my head.

other things I've noticed that may or may not be related
-recently I wake up with a lot of junk in my eyes
-the past 2 nights I've suddenly woken up an hour or 2 after I went to sleep, but with no pain whatsoever.
-for a 2-3 weeks the skin on my torso and chest area has been itchy.
-drowsiness

i have an appointment on wednesday with my pcp anyways (almost a week from now).  is that too long to wait?  is there any symptom that I should be looking for as the deciding factor to get myself looked at right away?

I have had exactly the same symptoms for about a month now. although i dont get vertigo.. I too keep getting regularly these pressure headaches, especially at night and when i wake up and they last only for a few seconds or minutes...
Did you get yourself checked up ? What can be the cause ?

The usual 'red flags' for a headache that might indicate a serious cause are new headache after age 40 years, 'worst headache or your life', sudden severe onset, an abnormal neurological examination (for instance focal numbness or weakness), fever, or a seizure.

Seeing your doctor is a good idea as he can do a neurological examination and help decide wether the headache is just related to tension, sinus, local infection (eye junk), migraine, or cluster headache.
