Dr_Nassim thanks a lot for your time and advice.
I used to have the attacks quite often before, several times in a week or in a month. The frequency of the attacks varied depending on the amount of sleep, having a fever( even low fever) and being ill.
After I have been on antiepileptic medication, it seems to improve. However, I still have the attack when I sleep little. Actually, I was free of attack for two and a half years. My private neurologist, who I went to see once, suggested me to stop carbamazepine, but my public neurologist suggested me not to change the medication. I have been cutting down on the carbamazepine, from 600g to 200g a day. My double vision has improved A LOT., and just experienced tongue numbness and ‘cloudy’ mind more often. I had only one attack after the change of medication. On that occasion, I didn’t sleep all night because of an allergic reaction to Ciproxin.. Even if my medication had remained the same, I think I would still have the attack because of sleep deprivation.
1.By the way, I forgot to mention that sitting down, drinking coffee and eliciting pain can prevent the attacks occasionally. How could that be if it Is epilepsy?
2.Is it possible for me to have epilepsy AND drop attack? How can I tell the different?
3.Should I still keep on cutting down the dose of carbamazepine?
Thanks for your time and concern
