Electric shock feeling in stepping area of foot near arch.

Recently, well, 30 days to be exact... I had an accident where my foot slammed into a ladder... I managed to get a small wound near the ball area/arch of the foot. This left me unable to step on the foot all the time. Most of the time I would step on the side of my foot. This is not to say I have ignored my foot completely. Now that the wound has closed up and the scab is beginning to slightly lift I am able to step on the foot.

What I am going through when I step on the foot is something rather weird. With every step I feel like electricity or a shock in my foot. What is this and what's causing it? Will it go away?
