Epleptin

I am using Epleptin started last night and took it again this morning now I feel as though I can't function or concentrate.  Is this normal?
The meds were given for stabbing pains in my head.

All I can offer is I know you miss your Lyrica.  I had a similar thing happen to me, my insurance changed one time, Lyrica became too expensive, had to go to gabapentin or Neurontin.  That stuff was really not as good as Lyrica, on account of it made my stomach SO upset and also my emotions got all dragged down, but it did keep the pain in check the same way.  As soon as I got on Medicare, they covered Lyrica, so I happily went right back to it.

Hound, you've gone thru the Lyrica experience, you remember how it started out, and I DO think the dizzy tired thing will be something you get used to.  I hope you don't feel "wierd," though, in a bad way.  This is all just my opinion from experience, but I do think you are having side effects from the new meds.  If you don't settle down within a couple weeks or so, let us hope your doctor will think of another medicine to give you relief.  I also take Tylenol Codeine #3, a very mild opiate drug, and it helps with all sorts of muscle type pain.  The Lyrica, tho, is the stronger of the two, it's for sharp back pain I live with from a car wreck.

Hi,   I am bi-polar as well as having Fibro-Myalgia. I have been stable on my meds., however my medical aid refused to cover the cost for the Lyrica, giving as a reason that they don't cover medication for Fibro-myalgia. I am now taking Epleptin 300mg, 1 2x daily. I feel weird. light-headed, dizzy, fatigued. Do you think I am having side effects from the Epleptin?
Regards.

Yes, you will feel very sleepy and groggy for maybe a week or so.  Eventually you get used to this expected side effect.  Just go with it, rest a lot, goof off.  If you have trouble working, try to get a three-day weekend in by taking off Friday (tomorrow), for example.  I take a cousin to your Epleptin, which the generic for yours is Gabapentin, and mine is Pregabalin or Lyrica.  I have a lot of pain in my body from tearing up my back in a car accident years ago, it really helps it so much, and I think it will help your headaches a lot.  Also, it is an anti-seizure type drug, so it helps with people who have musculature trouble.  Also, once you get used to the drug, sometimes doctors will increase the dose until you reach a plateau of comfort.  So, if you notice in a few weeks that the medicine stops working as well, mention it to your doc so he can look at increasing dose a little.  Which you will get sleepy once again, but nowhere near as bad as that first go.  I have no sleepiness or concentration issues with the emdicine at all now, I've been taking it three or four years.  I could not LIVE without my Lyrica.
