My 59 year old (otherwise healthy) mother had a right brain sided stroke one week ago today. The doctor said it was pretty massive, pretty much her whole back right side. She is paralyzed on her left side, but she can swallow and is eating well. She can talk fine but was coming up with off the wall stories and was somewhat confussed. as of sat she seemed more to herself and less confussed and making sense. but she could always answer any question you ask her pretty much right. (examples: dad's meds, bills that needed paid) She started moving her left foot a little and could feel where we were touching it last nite. still not really any movement on her left arm. my questions:
1. What are the chance with a massive stroke of her walking?
2. What improvements will she have over the course of days from here out?
3. Is the feeling she has and movement a sign of good things to come, or is that what we want to see?
